No worries, u dont have to be reaaaaaaaaallllllllllly early just to experience the scenic view of sun rising up by the beach. The sun rise is normally between 7 to 7.30 am.... After all the hotel is just by the beach!
I just went out through the back door, walk less than a minute...and I was by the beach.

The Sutra Beach Resort organises many different types of excursions from Merang, ranging from visits to Kuala Terengganu city and nearby towns to more adventurous stuff such as swimming in the waterfalls, snorkelling at Palau Redang, trekking, visiting the famous Lake Kenyir etc.

The beach at Merang is beautiful and unspoilt, and is good for beach activities. However, it is very dangerous to wonder around the beach during the monsoon season (about Nov to early March) due to the very strong waves, wind and rain.

The town of Merang is rather small and no much to see. In fact, it is called a "kampung" which means village in Malay. You can see many houses of the Malaysia architecture such as the one shown on the photograph.

One of the best thing about the Sutra Beach Resort is that it serves very delicious and spicy local food, especially the seafood and dessert. The price is also reasonable and you got to try the local food when you are here.

The swimming pool of the Sutra Beach Resort uses the popular infinity concept whereby it gives the illusion that the water of pool is merged with the water of the sea. Besides a relaxing swim, it offers a good view of the resort and the sea.
