Medan Selera Meraga Beris Kijal: Quiet nights at the Warung

by Wild_Orchid

The nights are very quiet here during the monsoon period. Restaurants in Cukai town stay open till about 10pm while the warungs may stay open till about 11 pm and some of them, till midnight. The Awana Kijal Resort used to have a disco, but it has since been closed, but in its place is a karaoke lounge which is popular on some nights. What to do:Just do what the locals do which is to go to the local warung, have a bite to eat and enjoy some teh tarik while catching some cable TV or local channels. Only canned drinks, hot drinks and coconut juice is available at most warungs. If you fancy some beer or wine, please remember to buy it in town and you may want to consume it at your hotel or holiday apartment. It's casual all the way!
