The gateway to Kapas Island is from Marang, jetty located 15km away from Kuala Terengganu (20 minutes bus ride). You can get the bus from Kuala Terengganu bus terminal, bus heading to Dungun or anywhere south can drop you on the way. Bus tix cost RM1.5-1.7 depends on the company.
Ask the bus driver to drop you off near the jetty. From the roadside, it is 10 minutes to the jetty, head to the seaside, pretty easy to find the way.
There are speedboat and slowboat from Marang to Kapas Island. Speedboat costs RM30, 10 minutes; slow boat costs RM20, 30 minutes or so.

Take bus from kuala Terengganu to Marang, which cost about RM1.50. Generally, the earliest boat to Pulau Kapas is at 9.00am, but it depends on the number of passengers and the weather condition. The round-trip boat fare to Pulau Kapas is RM30. Dont forget t o make earlier appointment for your return trip.

it's pretty easy to get to pulau kapas.. from anywhere in malaysia, just get yourself to kuala terengganu.. then take a taxi to marang jetty.. it's only a 15 minutes boat ride from there.. boat ride costs about rm25 per person one way..
