its cheap.. rm15 for a dinner set menu.. choices of fresh seafoods like giant squid, prawn, sharks, barracuda fish mixed with your favourite choices of garlic butter, spicy or yellow coconut sauce, add with choices of rice, jacket potatoes or french fries, and choices of mix vege or salad. Together with fruits and a cup of beverage. and the most important part is, it is right in front of the beach which is the most nicest spot for dinner eventhough it is just a stall plus the waiters there are friendly too..
if you did'nt plan to have bbq for dinner. climb up to mohsin's restaurant. its on a deck on top of the hill. a nice & cosy environment with a free movie show on every each night. try the creamy pasta.. you won't regret...yummy!!!!

There are 2 places on Coral Bay where you can have barbecue for diner and they both serve exactly the same at the same price.
For RM 20, you get
* a barbecued fish (king fish, barracuda, shark, tuna, chicken fish, etc.) freshly fished the same day, or king prawns, or squids, or satay (Malaysian speciality), or what they call sea lobster (which is delicious)
* the sauce of your choice (garlic butter, satay, coconut, curry, etc.)
* rice
* one baked potato
* a salad
* 1 slice of watermelon
The atmosphere is very relaxed at night as you eat on tables directly on the beach with some candles. It is magic.
Once again, I prefer the BBQ on Coral Bay compare to the one on Long Beach as it is quieter, cheaper and more relax. But be careful, at 10pm there is no life anymore on Coral Bay...
Favorite Dish: Try out the sea lobster with coconut, you will just love it!

No nasi Lemak or kuih muih for breakfast unless u made special arrangement with the well connected people.. LOL..hehehe..For breakfast they have American breakfast ($10) and only if u r lucky u can have mee goreng ($7).

This cafe has nice small varandah & low ceiling hut in front of the cafe and it's relaxing...
Just get some cool coconut drink and sip it under the shade..
Enjoy the sea breeze and the sound of breaking waves...
Oh.. if you are sitting in the hut right in front of the beach, be careful, as the waves can wash right up over you... That's why you won't see anyone sitting there...

There are alot of restaurants on the beach and they served mostly western food to cater for the tourists..
At night, the restaurants are very crowded as people wants to have the BBQ seafood for dinner.. Dinner cost around RM$15 onwards but food not that fantastic...

Service was a bit lousy. Plus we had to wait for a mere 30 minutes for our food to arrive.
Favorite Dish: The food is good. Besides overpriced american food (for us locals), you can also find overpriced local food here. We tried the Nasi Goreng Special (RM9!) or Special Fried Rice which consists of fried rice, chicken tempura, and fish crackers. Try the ice blended, which will really pop ur eyes out. They make it really special here!

Me and my friends had spent a few days on the island before discovering Matahari. Since discovering it....we didn't go to other restaurants for the duration of our stay. Most other restaurants only offer sandwiches, burgers, fried rice and/or spagetti. But at Matahari, they have great local cusine.
First of all, the food was DELICIOUS! Secondly, the restaurant very cozy and clean. In most restaurant on the island, there is a bit of a waiting time after you ordered before the food is ready. But at Matahari, we found that actually the food came quite fast after the orders has been place.
And the staff were GREAT! They were very friendly, very helpful and very efficient!! The prices were really really reasonable.
Favorite Dish: BTW, I had to agree with dar76.....the chicken rendang was fantastic! So was their milkshakes, their sandwiches and their chicken wings!!

To be honest, the food served is not really fantastic but it can be compromise by the beautiful view it had. The restaurant is just on the beach where we can overlooked the sea while having our dinner. Is a perfect umbiance.

If you are going for american breakfast, tunabay resort is your answer. With juice of the day and coffee at your refill, toast, fried rice, scramble egg, ham, baked beans and harsh brown and finally fruits. All the above only at RM15 per pax. Is real enjoyment as New cocohut and the rest of the restaurant along the stretch do not serve american breakfast.
Favorite Dish: Buffet American Breakfast.
I believe they would have higer standard of lunch and dinner, but I do not have time to try them out.

I like the chicken wings there at the Family Cafe. They even have a Japanese waitress who can speak Malay. (She is cute!)
You will be able to enjoy your chicken wings with cold beer on the beach. Especially in the evening.
