Dive Gears
  • Tip Rating:
  • Dive Bag, Regulator, BC, Fins, Mask & Snorkel.

Most dive centres rent these equipments, but you may not get used to the equipments in shortest possible time. To avoid panic or disappointment, it's always good to dive with your own equipments.

Dive suit (either Half of Full suit), Dive computer (Optional), Booties (for non-full foot fins)

For ladies, you may want to bring bikinis, especially during all the lunch & tea breaks.

    Sun Block/Tan

    Camera with underwater Housing

The picture (Force Fin) attached is one of the best fins i ever used. It's short & flex well under water. By far the most energy saving kind of fins. When you're experiencing current, then you will know what I'm talking about.

Force Fins also allow diver to move forwards because it's short & the fin is concave upwards. Therefore it does not restrict diver movement especially space is always a constraint on any dive boat.

    Insect Repellent
Bring your insect repellent as there are mosquitoes in the evening and throughout the night. Bring it if you want to go outdoors at night.

A sleeveless tee, beach shorts and a pairs of sandals is more than comfortable. You may be tempted to go around without the shorts and sandals, but keep those shorts on as it is illegal to go nude in public in Malaysia!
Ladies... bikinis are welcomed! = )

I guess most, if not all, of the resorts here provides basic toiletries such as soap, shampoo, towels.
I am not too sure about medical supplies, so bring along if you can't live without them...

Underwater camera a definate for UW phtography enthusiast.
Your prize shots may be just a few clicks away!

Full Dive equipment are readily available for rental from the dive shops here. No worries for those who are travelling from abroad.
As for hardcore divers out there, I'm sure you'll have your personal equipment and would like to use them.

For those of you who are travelling on coaches from KL, JB or Singapore, do bring along a jacket as the ride at night can be freezing.

    Go Light!
Prefrerably a backpack or something lite and easy to carry around as you will be transferred to the island on a boat and for some resorts, you may have to walk a distance from the beach as boats cant go in deeper because of the coral reefs

Lots of t-shirts, shorts, tights, or swim wear,

Your basic toiletries, throw in mosquito repellent and SUNBLOCK!!!!!!!

if you plan on going scuba diving and capturing pictures, a good underwater camera will come in handy

    easy!
a backpack will just be about sufficient

slippers, sandals, and if you want, aqua shoes!

sunscreen lotion!! too much sun is NOT good!

normal digicam or film cam would be good, an underwater camera would really allow a good capture of the marine life you will see! :)

snorkelling mask if you've one of your own :P
