This is my favourite souvenir shop in Redang simply because there are many things to shop (eg. beach wear, T-shirts, singlets, fridge magnets, key chains, flip-flops and etc) and you flies are not present here unlike some other shops.
What to buy: I like to collect fridge magnets and their T-shirts here are unique.
What to pay: Fridge magnet costs around MYR7 and T-shirt is range from MYR20 onwards.
This is a mini-mart cum souvenir shop. You will find most of the things you want to buy here but this place is crowded because it belongs to the largest resort at Pasir Panjang beach and the location was once the shooting site for one of the famous Hong Kong's movie starring Sammi Cheng and Ritchie Ren. The shop is pretty stuffy but it is a good place to take a photo due to its colourful building and fame.
What to buy: Anything you like but it is more expensive than other resort gift shops unless you cannot find them elsewhere.
What to pay: Expect to pay more than other resort gift shops.
This is one of the two gift shops in Redang Pelangi Resort with many flies inside because the main door is not closed.
They sell some local crafts, T-shirts, snacks, drinks and etc.
What to buy: Probably some tidbits or canned drinks if you crave for them.
What to pay: They are definitely less than MYR10.
I thought that one of the great things about being on Redang was that there really was nothing touristy to buy. Sure there were some small shops with t-shirts and other cheap knick-knacks, but we were hard-pressed to find decent postcards. Which was fine by us.
The Redang Beach Resort is facing south, There are other resorts and motels in the island too. If you stroll to you left, you will find this Batik Hut in on the beach front of other hotel. The keeper is not in but the coffee corner is just meters away, I guess he must be there watching if someone is interested to his art. The art piece are batik painting on handkerchief, poster and T-shirt, and they are displayed with price. Inside the hut is the working studio with all the color paints and brushes ready for the job to begin.
What to buy: Hand drawn batik on handkerchief, poster and T-shirts
What to pay: RM 30 - RM 80
It is air-conditioned with no flies inside!
What to buy: If you wish to get some snacks or drinks, this is one of the mini-marts in Redang island you will like to patronise.
What to pay: Most of the things sold are under MYR10.
