The Beach Club: Drinking Malaysia dry

by neilward

An excellent drinking hole with good music ,the only problem we had (on both visits,12 months apart) was getting served at the bar,not enough staff for the customers drinking there.Approx 18 ringits for entry but 1 free drink with that. Many locals seem to drink there and nationalities from all over the world seem to congregate on the dance floor. On my first visit there in 2002 the football world cup was on, in Japan and South Korea ,we spent of the night drinking and partying with some Brazilians and trying to samba, not easy with a couple of gallons of beer inside you...I blamed the jet-lag !!!!! No dress code ,but i wear 'book'em Danno' shirts anyway !!!!

Night Lifes in KL...

by coceng

KL has a vibrant night life but it's not without some prohibitions.Discos, pubs & bars must close before 2 am to prevent the drunk driving. I mean if those drivers want to die, they could do before 2 am, easy to clean the mess.By 3 am, people just want to crawl up to bed & be in heaven (sleep).Drunk driving is a serious problem here. I just have to be blunt about it.Again & again, if you want to drive, don't ever drink alcohol !

Chintown and Bukit Bentang Road: Live performance, shopping and eating go together

by Faiza-Ifrah

Bukit Bentang Road is itself a great nightlife spot. You can shop in the 6 retail malls in the neighborhood or in various shops. When you get tired, sit at roadside cafes in front of either BB Plaza or Plaza Low Yatt, have coffee, snacks and listen to the live musical performance of the bands. If you are walking from top of the street (i.e. Bukit Bentang Road) from say Federal Hotel towards BB Plaza, then take left at first road intersection. The first street parallel to Bukit Bentang Road appears a bit rundown, but remains awake almost throughout the night. Street vendors sell food and fruites that people consume in abundance. you can sit by a roadside vendor, buy doorian D24 (the best quality), have it cut professionally and go for the delicious inside.Another night time adventure would be to do shopping in Chinatown. During the day, it can be hot there. There is a foodcourt with lots...

Bintang Walk (Star Walk): Fun, delightful, lots to see

by teevee

Lots of cafes. A few shopping centres within the vicinity (Lot 10, Starhill and Sungei Wang). Also pubs and restaurants. Walk further in and you find houses turned into restaurants. Some quaint and some hippy ones. There also really hawker food mainly chinese. There are also McDonalds, Kentucky Fried Chicken and other fast food outlets. 3-5 star hotels located here too and there is the monorail train station (Bintang).Suitable for groups, individuals, family outing! Casual for cafes, shorts and flip flops. Pubs...jeans, t-shirt is fine. Just be yourself and relax!

Jalan Telawi, Bangsar

by worm_star

For those who love to socialize and having fun, this is one THE place to be.. a whole selection of cafes, bars, clubs and restaurants like Alexis, Red Chamber, Dome, etc. The whole atmosphere is great as there're many people chilling out at the bars and cafes. You can hear music from almost every corner of the streets.
