  • Tip Rating:
  • Palau Perhentian Kecil, the most beautiful island in Malaysia! Great for snorkelling & diving. But the island was kind of a Jurassic Park: the largest spiders, lizards & gekkos I've ever seen! But besides that, the place is Eden.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Pualau Pangkor. Take the bus to Lamut, get the ferry across and take a pink taxi to Teluk Nipah. One of the most fabulous beaches I've ever seen, and in low season it's deserted. You can take a boat out to coral island, and spend the day snorkling. TIP: take suncream if you do - I ended up doing a very bad lobster impression.

  • Pulau Kapas was relly a highlight, I wouldn´t want everyone to go there so I leave it up to you to find out where it is located. Relaxation, is what you get if you go there, so much that it might even make some people very nervous! ;-)

  • Tip Rating:
  • COCONUT'S CLIMBER Since the economy turmoil had been recovered 1998. The Coconut Estate owner facing manpower shortage. All boy and girl going down to town / city looking & chasing for high pay and stylish life. Nobody wanna work in the Estate. Estate owner cry day and night looking for workers. All sort of incentive introduce to win the workers.....alas !! ...no active response from job seekers. Finallly, go to traditional way....employed * Beruk* ( monkey). The problem is to train the Beruk. Can not simply hired the Beruk like that. The Beruk at PENANG HILL can not be employed.....this Beruk is Cosmopolitan. City type Beruk.....know how to asked but never know how to produce. Since Old Beruk is already pensioned or death, soo, the trainer having a hard time to train this new cader. No example and no sample to show to this New Comer. Really hard time to train with Human Language.

  • Tip Rating:
  • GRADUATION DAY This Beruk just graduted from BERUK ACADEMY....eager to give a service and to show his capabilities. Uncle Mat, eager to test his new coworker. Proofed this new employee is very dedicated and productive too. Compare to his old employee, always caught sleep under coconut tree. Dreaming fly to the moon and married with Tycoon's daughter. Uncle Mat know to phyco his new employee. Always sit him to front of his bycyle. This Beruk feel he is important. Do not worry, the Beruk won't show his bad character. He appreciate uncle Mat by putting him infront to lead the way.

Pay Day After The Hard Labour

PAY DAY End of the day, uncle Mat always pay his employee cash by coconut. According to uncle Mat, he feel happy with this dedicated employee. He (it) never complained about Work Hazard, Safety, Pensioned Fund or intent to joint Beruk / workers Union. The only thing hard time for uncle Mat is....this Beruk can not see *Beruk Betina* ( Female Monkey). He (it) could not be bother during working hours, left the working place immedietly to *fight*. To warn you not to be scared. Even this Beruk and Beruk Betina show the sharp teeth and fank. Its nothing, just to show appreciation to each other. When they coming closer, normally the Beruk Betina will showw retialiation ( not cheap man !! ).. But other way around, Beruk always ROBUST to encounter this situation. Uncle Mat know this *fight* won't take long, just a couple of minute only, won't jeopordise the main production. Sometime funny thinking about this Beruk, he hate to meet other group ie: Gorila, Chimpanzee or Orangutan. Beruk can make buddy buddy with Chipmunk, may be I guest both of them are Coconut's climber !! Funny in this Animal Kingdom they have a status quo too...low class with a low class, high class with elite.

Peherentian Islands... two small islands to the north, not so touristic, but so beautiful !! You can reach them by fisherman boats from Kuala Besut in Terengganu Region.

    The marketplace in Kota Bahru...
  • Tip Rating:
  • The marketplace in Kota Bahru is one of those rare glimpses into another culture that must be experienced to fully appreciate. Local people barter for their daily foods in a colorful and often loud, boisterous hall that will linger in your mind well after you leave. Later, a night market provides all the evening entertainment you'll need. The foods are exotic and cheap. My advice it to try everything. If you don't like it, just throw it away. I never had to do this and particularly liked a concoction of blue rice, fish cakes, and egg, covered in fish flakes and some sort of crackers, all wrapped in the day's newspapper.

  • Tip Rating:
  • Diving at Layang Layang - a man made island 300 miles NE of Kota Baru. Here you can see school and school of hammer head sharks. This is an all inclusive private resort with limited divers so it is not crowded at all.
