Well I dont have any favourite...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Well I dont have any favourite restaurant, I can be anywhere from mamak stall to hotel, I love food and I can tell U Malaysia are very rich with different types of food. We have Malay, Chinese and Indian Food and also other types of food. I can say that Malaysia is a 'One stop center for food' and U can find other countries food here in Malaysia
Most of the restaurant are very clean as our Ministry of Health will do regular checking on the premises, except for the road side stall.. have to be careful. Food in Malaysia is very cheap.

I must say that Satay and Nasi Lemak are the most wanted dish in Malaysia. My friend's boyfriend from Denmark bring back satay to Denmark!

  • Tip Rating:
  • A stall at a backlane at Jalan Rajah Laut.
This is the best 'Oh Jian' i tried in Singapore and Malaysia. It's cooked in a different way than those we have here in Singapore...more moist and not as oily and with big and fresh oysters. This stall is famous for this dish alongside with the steamed fish head. It is not cheap for a backlane stall, a big portion of 'Oh Jian' serving 2 - 3 person costs RM25. One meal there for 3 persons with 4 dishes costs abt RM 120.

Oyster ommelette or locally called the 'Oh Jian'.

Hawkers on Jalan Anson: Hawkers on Jalan Anson
  • Tip Rating:
  • Hawkers are generally areas with lots of little independant food stalls. In the middle there are lots of tables to sit at. You go to different stalls and order what you want. One specialises in fish, another noodles and rice, and another drinks. The photo is from my favourite Malaysian food, Satay. It is very cheap, only about 12 pence per stick. Highly recommendable. While sitting, there is a big screen showing cartoons or Malaysian soap operas.

Kentucky Fried Chicken: Kentucky Fried Chicken
  • Tip Rating:
  • I only took this picture because it was opposite the hotel we were staying at in Georgetown. I haven't been inside but I was impressed with the building, I have never seen such a nice looking KFC before.

    To satisfy your palate,...
  • Tip Rating:
  • To satisfy your palate, mouthwatering cuisine is offered at Berjaya Tioman Beach Resort's restaurants, from Cantonese fare at Fortune Court to local and Western delicacies at Sri Nelayan. My favourite will be Sri Nelayan (coz that's the only one that I tried) International dinner buffet serves at US$12 per person. Or you can cycle to the village for some local food at a cheaper price. (rental at $4 per hour for the bicycle)

    Hawkers Paradise
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Some said the happiness of living in Malaysia is able to eat anywhere, at roadside or at backstreet, do you agree sir or you tourists? Though this kind of street eating culture facilitates some peoples but actually it broke all the rules of keeping environment clean and also causing traffic jams, plus many other side effects. Some said it was a tradition to eat at roadside, some said it was cheaper especially for people of low income, some just eat and eat. My observation is the surroundings mostly filled up with tons of garbage, insect, cockroaches, ants, rats, stinks, etc, plus bad traffics. But you better don't make too much of comments as it involved traditions and many more aspects.

Satay is still my favourite local food. Stewed barbecued meat on stick and goes with thick peanut sauce. Delicious. Yummiee ...

    Top Spot in Kuching situated...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Top Spot in Kuching situated on the top of a multi storey car park. Various vendors around the edge of the roof but I can recomend ABC great choice and friendly staff.
Price so cheap it makes you wonder if they have made a mistake It opens at 1800 but gets very busy wuth locals from about 1900

I is a case of putting what you like on your platter from seafood (tiger prawns all types of fish squid octopus cuttlefish) to endles amounts of veg then let the chef do his magic. Wish I was back there
