In Shah Alam, I don't think anyone would have any high expectations of a restaurant's decorations, ambience and such as there aren't many restaurants here that posses such qualities. However, this is just another day-to-day restaurant and it's open for lunch and dinner.
For lunch, it serves an array of dishes that one would simply have with white rice, which is more commonly known as 'nasi campur' but in the evening, it serves made-to-order meals and most of it are plain and common but the 'Mee Bandung Muar' is the speciality here. Its thick gravy with generous nuts in it as well as perfectly cooked egg and noodle simply makes it perfect. The latter is undercooked nor it is soggy. Just nice!

It's a must for you to try the buffet at this place as it serves the best food money can buy. It is indeed very cheap and the food is excellent.
My theory is that they have to cook the best meals all the time as it's part of the University. They need the grades and so they have to do the best of everything.
Although the service may need some tidying up by their lecturers / supervisors or some other managerial person in charge, the food is excellent. It ranges between mostly Asian and Western cooking as well.
It's a simple place but it's good for Shah Alam. You cannot compare it to Kuala Lumpur of course. You should definitely give it a shot.

The restaurant is located by the trunk road and is open-sided without any air conditioning... however, the dining area is airy and cool... you will have to make your own tea after tea selection and pots of boiling water is strategically place between the dining tables... Parking is by the side of the main road as well as a small parking area and these are not sufficient because of the many patrons...
Favorite Dish: As the name of the restaurant implies, the speciality of the restaurant is bak ku teh (bkt)... The portion is generous and the meat is tender... the bkt soup is also delicious to taste... besides bkt, there is also asam fish, curry fish, chicken in wine and drunken chicken...
The restaurant is opened for lunch only and is closed on Mondays...

Met here with vters Siti (boocik04) and Gong (nhg). Has a happy ambience with TV, open 24 hours. Open air cafe/bistro concept overlooking a small man-made lake.
Favorite Dish: I tried the Nasi Goreng Cina or 'chinese fried rice' in english with seafoods and Teh Tarik for my drinks.

I discover this restaurant just by co-incident. I was looking for a WiFi spot and as I drove around the area, I found this restaurant.
The concept is great even. Good Wifi coverage, a traditional massage centrel, good food and there is even a big lcd screen playing live cable channel.
I ordered a tomyam soup and I love it very much. The waiter and waitress are so friendly and the services were good.
I am planning to have my dinner here again tonite... oohh before I forget, Sempeneh is actually a name of a plant wide can be found at Perak State.
++ Visited for the 5th times yesterday (27/12/07) but I am quite surprised that the food's not as delicious as my previous visit. The service also was quite poor as they seems to have short of staff and as I also bring my family members, its quite a frustration experience for myself to encountered such a drastic changes of quality from both taste and service. Should I downgraded my satisfaction rating? We waited almost an hour to received all foods that being ordered. ++

Shah Alam really has lots of ‘mamak’ restaurant and Restoran Syed is one of the best. Having few branches throughout Shah Alam, it offers a good dish by the name of Nasi Beryiani Bukhara (Bukhara Beryiani Rice).
I had tasted the dish at one of their branches in Section 11 and the rice is surely full of flavors and rich in spices. We can choose to accompany the rice either with chicken or mutton dish. It also comes with one whole boiled egg that cooked in curry.
Their most established branch situated at the Plaza Alam Sentral and it is a bristro even. A must try for Beryiani lover.

This restaurant is tucked between the residential area and UiTM. It offers hot and spicy Thai cuisine served with a contemporary twist. Ambience is very cosy because the place does not cater to very large crowds. The most it can accomodate is about 30-35 people (max!) at one time in the restaurant.
Favorite Dish: Usually, I would take rice with several different dishes. I like Kangkong Goreng Belacan, Ikan Kerapu Tiga Rasa and other typical Thai dish like Tom Yam Kung. For dessert, try the special nutty ice-kacang...
