Batu Ferringghi, Gurney Drive and Georgetown: Drop by in Penang Island

by sklc

You can find so much to shop in Penang and eat as well! If you're observant, you'll realise that there is a free shuttle bus service which takes you en route through the main spots in town. This little island is simply an experience to remember! You should look out for local craft like the weaved ware (baskets, mats, hats etc), pottery, cloth (silk and dhurries), pewter (the most famous is Royal Selangor Pewter) and traditional costumes (even for children). Spend about RM500 and you will have souvenirs and gifts for all your friends and relatives at home as well

Treasures of Borneo!: Something for Someone back home?

by Xinta

This shop offers the best selection of antiques, arts and traditional handicrafts in the whole of Borneo, and for exotic jungle produce. You can even order thru the internet. That way, you don't have to spend and take the trouble to come all the way to Borneo island just to get the things you wanted. All you have to do is contact them via email! Isn't it easy?! :-D (a) Wholesale & retail of new & old Borneon style artifacts, furnitures & souvenirs;(b) Hand-carved wooden doors, tables, chairs, leases, tiles, lampstands, frames, trays, etc;(c) Hand-woven textiles, baskets, hats;(d) Custom order of wood totems, statues, furnitures & fittings. It offers competitive prices. If you check out the price and compare the price, you'll find it very reasonable!

Chinatown's sunday night street market: Fake everything for sale in Kuala Lumpur

by JohnEric1979

The Sunday night market in Kuala Lumpur's chinatown is full of faux and bootlegged stuff that can be haggled for and bought for very cheap. Faux brand name clothing and accessories, bootlegged CD's and DVD's, etc. are all available for very cheap. It's also a good place to buy mobile phone batteries and chargers. Haggle and you shouldn't have to pay more than a few USD$ for anything there.

Central Market Kota Bahru: one of the most colourful markets in Malaysia

by martin78

The central market in Kota Bahru is a three storey building which contains fruit market, fish market and a lot of small shops where you can buy everything from sarongs and cloth to medicine and books. There is so much to see ! The fruit market is fantastic, there are so many different sorts of fruit to test. Rambutans, giant grapefruits, melons and many other of which I do not even know the name. Up to you, but don't forget to bargain for more expensive items

Any: China Town in KL

by Kalulu

Its all fake so be prepared for poor quality. But can get really cheap CD, DVDs and designer gear. You must bargain, DONT accept first price offered but don't argue too much, its a bit of an insult. Be careful about buying DVDs, they may not work and make sure they are compatible with the DVD player CD, DVD, designer handbags. £3 for 6 CDs
