 | | | | wakeboarding/ water skii in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur | | | | | |
IF YOU WAKEBOARD OR WATER SKI & you happen to visit Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia, where the weather is perfect for year round water sports activities, then you must make a trip to a place called "THE MINES BEACH RESORT" which is only a 30min drive away from the city centre or 20mins if the traffic is good. The mines is an abandoned tin mine which over time and plenty of rain water has been turned into a lake that's over 600ft deep in the middle & has a healthy ecosystem with a variety of fish. The 150 hectare lake is used for ONLY 2 purposes. 1) to ferry guests and tourists using a water taxi from the mines shopping mall to the palace of the golden horses & the most important 2) to wakeboard & water ski. This means the water is pretty calm most of the time. The boat used is a master craft which has a tower for wakeboarding and a pole for water skiing. it can also be equipped with a boom arm to teach beginners. The wake coming from the boat is pretty good when filled with a water sack and allows for a generous pop for beginners. pros will have no problems turning tricks here... For water skiers, a slalom course is also provided & the lake was voted 7th of the top 10 places in a ski magazine. YOU MUST BOOK YR SESSION IN ADVANCE. YOU CAN CALL A DAY BEFORE IF YOU WANNA BOOK ON WEEKDAYS BUT BOOK 2 DAYS OR MORE IN ADVACNCE FOR WEEKENDS. BOOKINGS ARE DONE BY THE HOUR.
WAKEBOARDING - There is a house board available but it's always better if you bring your own board. if you're taking children, you should call and find out if they have the required binding & board sizes beforehand. WATER SKIING - ski's are provided. but feel free to bring yr own. ski's for children is also available. life jackets are provided for both sports. There are some great places to scuba dive around the coast and on the islands of Malayasia! I have not done this personally but met several people that have and they raved about it.
All equipment can be hired locally. Leave a Comment Theme: Scuba Diving
