Kangaroo cafe, Beaufort, Borneo, Malaysia.

The kangaroo cafe has a sign that might make it look like it´s run by a foreigner or run for foreign tourists but i never saw anyone but locals there and they were many as the place is very popular.
I can well understand that as the food was very good and on top of that they have free wifi, which many locals were using too.

Favorite Dish: I had a thai style nasi goreng with chicken and that was brilliant.

Generic coffee shops: Sample the local tastes

Some of these coffee shops still have wooden planks as floors and do creak!! There are quite old and can seem rather dirty at times, but I've often found that the food at such spots tastes just that little bit better!!

Some coffee shops have their specialities, but all will sell the usual Chinese food like noodles and rice. The one I went to made waffles-I've always enjoyed Sabah waffles.

Kuih-Muih

There are different kind of kuih-muih in sabah compare with in peninsular malaysia. There is a fried fruit, the fruit called buah talam which I never eat in the peninsular malaysia.

Itried the food in a coffee house in Beaufort while waiting for the train to Rayoh to come. The boss is a shy and friendly guy who tried to answer most of our question and passionly show us the buah talam.
