 | Kota Kinabalu Restaurants | Tips 51 - 60 of 179 | | Wowow! I didn't expect there is such amazing place in the "plain looking" cylindrical tower by the bay. I was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance - supercool. Comfy sofa. Designer chairs. Modern lamps. It offers a sweeping 360 degree view of the Likas Bay and surrounding. It supposed to be Sabah's only revolving restaurant. However, when I was there (at about 3:30pm on Sunday), they didn't turn the rotor on. Not many people around. We practically had the place to ourselves, until the arrival of a bunch of Japanese tourists. If you have money to splash, they offer helicopter and luxury yatch tranfer package, with fine dining thrown in. The next time I come here, I must make sure that I come for the sunset. They said sunset last longer on higher ground. Should be breathtaking! Please click my KK travelogue for more pictures of Atmosphere!
We ordered some mocktails and Risotto balls with cheese. Yummy! Leave a Comment

This restaurant (spelt @mosphere) is located on the 18th floor of the now named Tun Mustapha Tower (formerly the Yayasan Sabah building), the tallest building in Sabah. The restaurant revolves 360 degrees in 60 minutes. I went during the day and have been told to avoid dinnertime as the view is pretty much pitch black with a smattering of lights. Valet parking is available and I've been told that during weekends and holidays it's advisable to make reservations. I doubt public transport is available-take a cab. Also, I believe locals get 20% the bill as they can quite easily get a 'discount' card. Find a local, and go with them!
I didn't go for the food!! Had the fish & chips-passable, but you shouldn't be going there for the fare-it's all about the view. Not 1 spot but many places all over the city, especially at night. Many people have their own favourites so I won't suggest any but you simply can't miss them, plus they can come and disappear all the time. Most stalls tend to be pork-free so as to attract the maximum number of people, though there are Chinese areas stalls usually serve pork. Usually the selection of food is very wide as there are quite a few stalls to choose from. You'll also have your usual chicken-wings and satay stalls. Food tends to be cheap (cash only) and quite delicious. Service tends to range from between rubbish to absolutely atrocious. Hygiene is a question of personal standards but I've never gotten sick from them. It's a must do, or you haven't really tried Malaysian food.
Anything really-there are almost always quite good. Leave a Comment Theme: Street VendorPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: less expensive than averageAddress: eveywhereDirections: usually sprout around shopping centres, beaches and suburbs
