Pulau Tiga is located 30 nautical miles south from Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. It is surrounded by a Marine Park which means the coral reefs surrounding the island are protected and in good health.
The nicest coral reefs are located south of the island and you'll need a boat transfer to get to them. They are located on raised sandy patches which are covered in boulders, soft corals, hard corals, barrel sponges and teaming with fish life.
You often get mild currents on the dive sites which brings in marine life. My favourate dive sites are at Pulau Tiga.
Best time to go diving there is in the Dry Season (from April - October). The cuttlefish mating season on the reefs at Tiga is August - so an interesting time to go ;).
You can get diving day trips to Pulau Tiga from Kota Kinabalu (faster to get there by boat than by road) or from the Resort.
