Sepilok Rehab Center Gift Shop: Souvenirs

by kyoub

There is a small gift shop located near the exit of the Orangutan rehab center. It reminds you of things like you could find at a zoo plus they have some locally made items. We didn't buy anything except a t-shirt.

Lubuk Bay Gift Shop: Proboscis Monkey souvenirs

by kyoub

While at the Lubuk Bay Sanctuary you will be able to buy a few souvenirs of your visit, in the small gift shop. They have post cards, t-shirts, and numerous other articles with the big nosed Proboscis Monkey on them.I just had to have a t-shirt that drew a lot of stares later on the trip.

shopping malls

by rosie235

best shopping malls in KK are at Centrepoint, located just near J. Dua Puluh, Karamunsing Complex and wisma merdeka (J Tun Faud Stephen) also worth going to the KK plaza on J Lapan Belas. Here you can find all sorts of stuff from clothes to games, shoes, electrical items, Dvd's, Cd's, jewellery and book stores. Centrepoint also has designer label clothes on the palm square floor. There is a sunday market in J Gaya where you can buy anything from tshirts, bags, sunnies, fruit/veg and just about anything else you may want. The night market is in and around J KG Air1. For handicrafts and pearls try the filipino market just up from the Api Api centre on the beach front.

Wisma Medeka: For your viewing pleasure

by suzyq40

The department store is just that a department store, however the dvd stores have great priced dvd's DVD's.go into any video/dvd store and ask if they sell DVD's. If they do they will take you up the back of the store, hand you plastic folders and all you do is pick the titles you want, its that easy dont pay any more than RM20 per dvd, and make sure you check the ones you are buying to see whether they work or not. they say that 95% will work

Fillipino Market: Pearls Pearls Everywhere

by suzyq40

Open air market, although very cramped. Has an array of different wares for sale, however there are thousands of pearls to buy. Pearls. They are everywhere. Different colours, different shapes and different sizes, and also varying prices, although I should mention, they are very very cheap.I picked up 5 sets of pearl necklaces, all different lenths and shades for prices ranging from RM45 to RM120. Earrings are also cheap varying in price depending on whether they are set in gold or silver. for a choker RM45 ($18AUD) 3 strand fresh water approx 80cm long cost me RM130 ($52AUD). Earrings can cost from RM5 to RM10, so go nuts!!!

Various: Sinsuran Market

A good place to stock up on souvenirs. Lots of things to see. However, you would need to bargain, and bargain real hard sometimes. Things sold there include bamboo and rattan boxes, bags, hats, mats, wall hangings and walking sticks. There are also lots of decorative forks and spoons for sale. T-shirts, accessories, hand-made photo albums are worth bargaining too.

Kota Kinabalu - Wisma Merdeka: Handicrafts of Sabah

by bkoon

The ground floor of the shopping centre has many shops sellnig handicrafts of Sabah. They are sold at reasonable "shopping centre" prices. Sometimes, it's worth to pay a little more for the air-condition, especially when the weather becomes unbearably hot and humid. Handicrafts, Souvenirs, etc

BLOW THE EXPENSE

by BerniShand

Borneo was a unique experience for us, we are used to being assailed from allsides by traders eager for us to buy their goods... but here it`s different, no pressure, no being chased down the street, no agressive selling at all Blowpipes are an unusual souvenier [ remember to pack them in your checked in luggage though ] and wooden articles are inexpensive. you wont spend much, things were so cheap that we even bought some gifts in the hotel shop and thought they were good value

-: Souveniers

by SanguiniA

You are better off buying souveniers in Sarawak - the selection is much wider and cheaper. There are some shops selling souveniers in Sabah, but not up to par with those in Sarawak.
