Coming to Tawau, the seafood is not something to be missed. However when a change is needed the newly opened commercial area Kubota Square offers a number of possibilities.
But the most distinct one is definitely a corner restaurant with the name Chiffonade. Opened by two young locals who came back to Tawau having worked for a number of years at top hotels in West Malaysia and Singapore, the food served is considered fusion. However the chefs just seem to be able to embed a personal touch to their recipes such as their trio spiced spring roll which is filled pack with succulent chicken and prawn meat or their mango yoghurt blend drink
Price is reasonable compared to other restaurants within Tawau.
Apparently Chiffonade started off and still has a food stall at TAwau's only shopping mall - Eastwrn Mall. I did not go there but expect the food to be equally good.

As with all the restaurant in the Sabindo Seaside Food Stalls, the dining area is not air-conditioned... However, it is cool in the evenings for dinner with the breeze blowing in from the sea nearby...

The dining area is not air-conditioned but cool enough during the evening and early night... Fresh seafood is displayed for selection and there is a wide variety available... The restaurant is opened only for dinner from 4.00pm to about 10.00pm... There is infrequent rest days and it is opend daily...

Good View is opened daily from 4.00pm till about 10.00pm... Pricing here is slightly lower than that of Kam Ling but the cooking is equally good, if not better... The restaurant serves halal food...
