some people might not know that sabah is a land of opportunity for people from the neighbourhood countries. therefore many came from indonesia and the philipines to seek employment. however majority came with no valid document and somehow would not land them any job. Therefore many of them became self employed. from cigarette vendors to fishmonger, you can see many of them on the street. so be cafeful when you are in town.. always walks in groups or at least with a friend. if you really are travelling alone, do not go out until late at night. speak nicely to people around.most of them are town on the street go to town during the day and if at night walk around in public, crowded area or places with lights..area around wisma merdeka,segama and gaya street are safe but not towards the end of town like market area
