Ahhh...you really want to know??? Well, one of my fondest memory was when I had heaps and heaps of fun, partying the whole nite thru together with my friends, both local and ex-pats at Tribes, a fun pub at Holiday Inn Kuching with real cool bands (Headwinds from KL) performing. That was the time I simply can't get enough sleep from all those parties...hehe ;-) Leave a Comment

Bako National Park by muddybok Don't get me wrong that State of Sarawak is not a nature heaven because I didn't feature much of the 4-wheeling & camping stuffs. In fact, Sarawak is much better outdoor heaven than Pahang State (as featured in my Negeri Pahang page). Hope to include more National Parks such as Mulu & others in near future. Leave a Comment

Sarawak Tourism Complex by iNorv9 Be sure to visit the Visitor's Information Ceter. Here you can get all types of maps and brochures, as well as valuable local tips on what to do in Sarawak. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and spoke excellent English. Located in the Sarawak Tourism Complex, near the waterfront on Jalan Gambier, just east of the India Street Pedestrian Mall.

One of the nicest of all is the sunset in Batang Ai, which is a distance from Kuching City but gain a good experience in the five hours journey and with a good accommodation owned by Hilton Hotel call the Batang Ai Hilton Resort. Peaceful and clean air makes you feel so relaxing. Set on the edge of spectacular rainforest, the Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort is Hilton’s only jungle property.the national park is a 2-hour boat ride away, but rainforest surrounds the hotel waiting to be discovered. The Fairy Cave and a nearby Wind Caves are located near Bau Town which is famous for its gold mining in the past. The Wind Caves – are a collection of small passageways with some amazing stalagmites formation.
The fondest of all would be the friendly people of Kuching, the good food, the clean City and its unique colonial buildings which were maintained throughout the years. Mount Santubong has its historical stories and is located on the Damai Peninsula, 35km north of Kuching. From sea level, it's rainforest-covered peaks rise steeply to 810m. There are several versions of local legends about Gunung Santubong, one of the version saying the mountain was formed when mythical Princess Santubong was speared by her jealous sister, Princess Sejinjang. and gave the mountain its distinctive profile, like a pregnant belly , if you were to observe the shape of the mountain Leave a Comment

Both times we went to the river we sighted the Dragon Boats in training for the challenge to be held during the forthcoming festival. When we took the late afternoon river cruise we saw 4 or 5 crews training, and it looked very hard work. Leave a Comment

by zrim First thing head down to the waterfront. It is busy, clean and entertaining. All along the waterfront there are restaurants, food centers, shops and old colonial buildings. To cross the river to visit Fort Margherita take a tambang (ferry). Leave a Comment

I was here when Kuching held their Kuching City Celebrations, Merdeka (National) Day as well as the Sarawak Regatta. The Kuching City Celebrations was a month long celebration that included a food fair (absolutely delicious where all the restaurants and part time chefs come out with their special dishes), an expo and performances. This is an annual event that occurs in August. The Food fair is held in Padungan. Leave a Comment
