Oyster Omelette and Wild Fern

Delicious seafood fresh from the Sarawak river and South China Sea.

Favorite Dish: Oyster omelette - thin crust and blown up to the size of a Chinese wok! Delicous picks of oysters within the golden puff.
Notice the green stuff next to the omelette? That's wild fern, a popular dish in Sarawak.

We lucked into getting a great Thai meal at the Hilton while we were there in Kuching.
They have a different food promotion every month and that month happened to be Thai.
It was a huge buffet and there were so many desserts I could not believe my eyes

This is the locals favourite dish for breakfast and everyone as their own personal favourite store. My current favourite at the moment is Foody Goody Cafe at Stutong, The shop at Ban Hock Rd ( next to the continental Hotel) and Golden Arch (3.5 mile).

Favorite Dish: Sarawak Laksa is a spicy noodle soup that everyone who loved spicy asian food would love. If you fall into that category or are adventurous with you taste got for it!

The restaurant is operated by a chinese family in a Malay fishing village, so no pork is cook here. The restaurant is bulit on stilts on top of the beach so you can have your meal while watching the sunsets . They served very good authentic local dishes. There is a few seafood restaurant but in my opinion the best is one at the end very end of the road in the fishing village next to the parking area , Lim Hock Ann.

Favorite Dish: Deep Fried fish or prawns ,buttered prawns and black pepper/chili crabs. If you are adventurous you can try the jelly fish peanut salad (delicious!)

Fruit

Breakfast was included with our room at the Telang Usan Hotel. My husband really enjoyed his malay breakfast and we both loved the assortment of local fruit. Rambutans were in season and they were yummy.

Favorite Dish: At dinner we had a bottle of very good rice wine.

Imagine eating with 1000 others outside on the top floor of a multistorey carpark in the capital city of a Malaysian State. If you want to experience what the locals do after dark then this is the place.

Favorite Dish: Jungle fern in oyster sauce.
