It is a nice place to visit in Miri. As you enter the temple. you will smell the pungent inscence burned by the people as they pray the their god. Compared to other temples like in Vietnam of Cambodia, they do wear their slippers inside. So that makes the floor dusty and untidy. Address: beside the wet market

Miri Public Park is situated on a hill, about 3km from the city center along the Miri-Bintulu Road. Anyone can get a good aerial view of the surrounding area from the higher part of the Park. There are flower and flora gardens, a souvenir center, a canteen, observatory platforms, stone carving and sculptures, man-made waterfalls, suspension bridges, jogging tracks and other sporting facilities. There is also a children's water playground nearby. People come here in the morning or evenings to exercise, relax with the family or just hanging around.

Miri Public Park or Taman Awam Miri is located about 3km south of Miri (towards the airport). This is a popular place amongst the locals especially in the afternoons and weekends because it is a lovely place to job, bring the kids or hang out There is a tower which vaguely looks like an onshore oil well and hanging bridges that overlook a mini water park (very popular with kids). There are also waterfalls and jogging tracks that go up & down gentle slopes. Entrance is free and there are little stalls to buy food & drinks. Thankfully, this place is quite clean Address: Airport RoadDirections: Go towards the airport and the park is at the next to a hill after the Police Field Force camp

Our guide took us to one of the local villages, from where we took a long walk in the forest looking for the different kinds of plants they use as remedies. Later, we could buy some of their crafts from a few stalls they had installed outside the village. Leave a Comment

The Petroleum Museum was opened on 20 May 2005, right next to the Grand Old Lady, because of the significance of the place to the oil industry of Miri and Malaysia. The museum was built in close cooperation between the two major oil companies in Malaysia, Petronas and Sarawak Shell Berhad The exhibit includes photographs & information on the oil & gas industry, with special attention to Miri. There are some activities for the kids like a mechanical dinosaur and other animated exhibits that entertains & educates This building is located on top of Canada Hill which is now known as Bukit Telaga Minyak or Oil Well Hill (personally I prefer its original name) Address: Canada Hill or Bukit Telaga MinyakDirections: Next to Oil Well No.1 or the "Grand Old Lady"
