Favorite thing: The weather was often cloudy while we stayed in Sarawak, Damai Beach included. However, every evening sun rays and clouds played a perfect game to offer us glorious sunsets to enjoy from the beach or from the hotel terrasse.

Favorite thing: The main reason why you come to Damai is the beach. I did not think that the Water of the South China Sea was particularly clear, but it was warm and the place was not crowded at all, so our stay there was, all in all, a totally relaxing experience.

Favorite thing: This festival is held every year around the month of July for three days. It's a unique festival set against the backdrop of one of the world's oldest rainforest, whereby singers and musicians from all corners of the world come together and perform here in the island of Borneo. This event is all about world music celebrated in the creative spirit of musicians of different ethnicities, backgrounds and musical traditions. I can assure you'll like it!
Fondest memory: I'd been there for three consecutive years and it was awesome! I'll not miss the chance to join in this once-a-year festival as I'll miss out a lot if I don't go. Besides performing musics during the evening by these talented people from around the world, they also feature musical workshops, ethnomusicology lectures, dance workshop and children workshops by them as well from morning till late afternoon. So, if you're in Malaysia, try not to miss it because I'm sure you'll not regret it as it's really fun and exciting! ;-) Oh! And for those of you who has never been to Sarawak Cultural Village, it's a great opportunity to check out all the tradtional native dwellings reproduced herein this living museum.
