On the Litrak Highway by Wild_Orchid Driving around Malaysia is easy and fun ~ if you have a car to get around. If you don't, then catch the Express Buses (although some of the drivers can drive maniacally fast and you do so at your own risk!) Malaysian Highways and Expressways are well maintained and in good conditions~thanks to PLUS, LITRAK and a number of other private highway concessionaires who own the right to charge road users a toll. The PLUS Highway (also called the North-South Highway) takes you from Penang in the North, through Kuala Lumpur in the middle all the way to Johor in the South of Peninsular Malaysia. The East-Coast expressway has also recently come up and now you can drive all the way from KL to Kuantan in 2-3 hours. There are different toll pricing for different expressways and convenient stops along the way. The highways and expressways have made domestic tourism a weekend past-time among locals and tourists alike. Note: Speeding is dangerous and the speed limit on highways and expressways range from 90 km/h to 110 km/h. On certain stretches of trunk roads (which link the smaller towns and villages), the speed limit is set at 60 km/h. Despite the somewhat poor or misleading road signages, it isn't that difficult to get around. Afterall, isn't getting lost half the fun? Keep a map handy for emergencies. Leave a Comment

Beautiful Langkawi by kenyneo There are a few ways you can reach Langkawi island from Kuala Lumpur by air - direct flight by ( click here ) AIR ASIA no frill and reliable airline (make sure you check the webpage and if you book very much in advance you will get dirt chepa tickets ) and Malaysian Airlines by bus & ferry thru Kedah or Perlis 1.Kuala Kedah. You need to get a bus from KL to Kuala Kedah( RM20-25)The ferry takes about 1 hour 15 min from the jetty to Langkawi. 2. Kuala Perlis As it is nearer to Langkawi, the trip will take you only about 40 minutes. The problem is that you will have to get a transport to go all the way to Perlis, which is about 7 hrs drive from KL. There is a train from KL namely, Langkawi Ekspres. You can drop at Alor Setar station and get a taxi to Kuala Kedah. The fare to Kuala Kedah should not be more than RM20. Check the price first before you board. And the train takes you longer. by bus & ferry thru Penang Take a bus from either Plusliner Station ( see my bus tips above ) or from Puduraya ( cost about RM 20-25 ) to Penang about 4-5hours. You can stay in the beautiful heritage trove before heading to Langkawi ( get a taxi from town to Esplanade is less than ) else get a bus from Komtar. The counter for ferry is situated near the Clocktower in Esplanade ! The ticket price is RM35 per trip, depart from Penang at 08:30, only one trip per day and the trip is about 2 hours very comfortable ferry ride. Here are the contact no. for the ferry ticketing Phone:04-262 5630/262 5631 Leave a Comment Theme: Other

Travel with ease ... by kenyneo Its affordable and reliable Airline , that is making a hit among Malaysians and now it has expanded its operation to cover INDONESIA , THAILAND and SINGAPORE. The flight to certain locations can be as cheap as RM9.99 but of course you have to book very much in advance . Please look and make sure the price is stated as " FROM" or "AT " that shown price. Even if you don?t get these dirt cheap tickets , generally the price is much lesser than the national carrier MAS. It flies to major city and towns in Malaysia From Kuala Lumpur Northen Malaysia - to Penang - to Langkawi - to Alor Setar ( State of Kedah ) East Coast - Kuala Terenganu ( state of Terengganu ) - Kota Bahru ( state of Kelantan ) South - Johor bahru East Malaysia - Miri ( state of Sarawak ) - Sibu - Kuching - Labuan From Penang - to KL - Johor Bahru Leave a Comment Theme: Airplane

now everyone can fly .. by kenyneo recently AirAsia has started to fly to several South East Asian country, all this was built on their success story of providing incredibly affordable flight tickets. The emergence of AirAsia has filled a gap in the customer demand and has even force other major Airlines in the region to come up with such a service. From Kuala Lumpur THAILAND - to Bangkok ( from Bangkok using Air Asia you can go Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Nakhon Ratchasima, Udin Thani, Kon Kaen and Hadyai ) - to Phuket INDONESIA - to Bandung - to Surabaya ( note flight to Jakarta is only available from Johor Bahru ) Singapore *** Note that tickets to these place can be less than RM 100 if you book early *** Leave a Comment

Malaysia's first no-frills budget airline !! YEAH !!!!! Lovely lovely lovely .. can whizz about around Malaysia for a pretty decent price. Pricing works as in other budget flights in Europe ie Easyjet & Ryanair, the earlier you book your flight, the cheaper it is. Sometimes it can get really ridiculous .. RM20 per one way flight from KL to Penang !! Howver, bear in mind that there are other charges that go long with that. But overall, its a cheaper way to fly !! Leave a Comment

Bikes Galore ! by gnh If you're fit enough, and not afraid of the hot sun, the motorcycle is surely the best way to see the most that Malaysia has to offer. But be warned, the drivers here are not too careful, and the bike is very exposed to accidents. Use it only in the rural areas where traffic is less. Leave a Comment Theme: Motorcycle
