Limousine or parking at airport

by drandy

Personally, I would drive and park at the airport, especially you are with a family of more than 4 persons.1st- you would need a larger limousine, and the charges are higher2nd- If you travel outside office hour, there is a surcharge of 50% from the cabbie3rd - If you arrived back in Malaysia in the late evening, especially if your flight arrives after 10pm, you may have difficulty getting a cab at the airport , especially at KLIA- there will be very few taxis around just before midnight, some cabbie will fetch you only after midnight and ask you to pay a surcharge.I do not know whether you are using penang or klia, I believe Penang's parking is much cheaper than KL, but overall, I find parking at airport is much cheaper and more convenient if you leave your car there for less than a week, and I believe it's pretty safe.

Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh by bus

by ll_angel86

There are generally 2 buses from KLIA or LCCT to Ipoh. I'm not too sure about the timings but I usually take Yoyo. So far, the rides have been smoothgoing. Just note that you need to inform the driver if you want to stop elsewhere besides the office in Bercham.

Causeway Into Malaysia

by Aidy_p

If you're travelling by land from Singapore to Malaysia, you can either use the Woodlands Causeway or the Tuas Causeway, also known as the 2nd Causeway. If you are driving in, you will be required to pay toll on both sides. Be prepared for traffic jams if you are travelling over the weekends or during festive periods. Alternatively, you can also take a bus or train to Johor Bahru and beyond.

Air Asia.

by cachaseiro

Air Asia is the biggest budget carrier and it is from Malaysia and connects Malaysia with mosy countries in South east <asia aswell as other parts of Asia and Australia and Europe.Aswell as being a cheap airline they are also suprisingly good.Forget about lousy european budget airlines whe you are in Malaysia cause Air Asia are much better than them. You will need to pay for your food and drink, but prices are quite low and seats are good and it´s generally a very efficient airline that i can only highly recommend.

Malaysia Airlines.

by cachaseiro

One way of getting to Malaysia is with Malaysia airlines. They are in my opinion one of the best airlines in the world and have also won many awards over the years. They have extremely good onboard service with free food and drinks as often as you like and when i flew them from Istanbul to Kuala Lumpur they also had a very good movie selection on the plane even for us economy passengers. They serve many international destinations aswell as many domestic ones.

Touch N Go Cards

by SLLiew

While using the North South Highway (PLUS) in Peninsular Malaysia, the "Touch N Go" card is a convenient top up card where you can just swipe at the toll booth or going across Penang bridge. It can also be used on LRT in Kuala Lumpur and other applications. The card can be topped at selected booths (Tambah Nilai), selected PLUS stations, ATMs and petrol kiosks. The lines of Touch N Go are shorter. There is also "SMART Tag" where scanners is used.

Take an alternate airport

by kyoub

On our second trip to Malaysia we flew into Singapore and spent a few days before going on to Borneo. We discovered that by going to Johor Bahru and flying from there it was much cheaper so that is what we did. At Senai Airport we boarded Malaysia Airlines for our flight to Sarawak. We flew from Kuching to Laubuan (by way of Miri). From Miri to Mulu and return. From Miri to Kuching and then back to JB.We were able to do all this on Malaysia Airlines at a good price and with smooth connections.
