The air traffic between Indonesia and Malaysia now encourage the peoples of Both Indonesia and Malaysia to visit each others, Malaysia with MAS(Malaysia Airline System) and Indonesia with GIA (Garuda Indonesia Airways). From Jakarta Cengkareng/Soekarno Hatta Air Port to Kuala Lumpur International\ Air Port vise versa, now can be reach in about one and a half hours

Effective January 15, 2007, all passengers using airports operated by Malaysia Airports Bhd will need to pay a security charge of RM6 for international flights and RM3 for domestic flights. The charge will added into air ticket cost.Good news that this extra security charge does not apply to tickets purchased prior to January 15. So fuel charge, airport tax charge and other surchage, I wonder what is next. Carbon emission charge?
In Malaysia, by law, all petrol (gas) stations are self-service. You take note of the pump number, prepay by cash or credit card and fill up. Petrol price is controlled at RM1.92 per liter. All are unleaded. Some petrol companies have a higher premium grade or lower regular grade in addition to the regular grade.Major petrol companies are Petronas, BP, Esso, Caltex and Shell. Most petrol stations have restrooms. Note that "air" is water, "24 jam" is 24 hours in Malay.

Larger cities are well serviced by buses, trains and taxis which are oth efficient and reasonably priced. In KL, you can hop on the LRT or monorail to get around the city easily. The exxpress rail link will whiz you between the city and the international airport in just 28 minutes.
The PLUS Highway has transformed driving along the West Coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Gone are the days of dangerous overtaking, winding turns or following queues of lorries. Now you can drive from Kuala Lumpur to Penang within 5 hours within speed limits. You can reach Singapore from Kuala Lumpur in less than 5 hours too.The PLUS Highway is toll highway of divided traffic of double lanes. There are many regular rest stops for food, relaxation or to top up the petrol as well as exits to various destinations. You can use cash, "Touch N Go" prepaid cards or SMART scan cards. During festival holidays, there is heavy traffic and travel time may double. So you can drive from the north starting from Kayu Hitam, at the border of Thailand, through the States of Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor to Kuala Lumpur and continue through the States of Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor to Johor Bahru and cross...

Local Bus: Noisy rattle traps but reliable and very low cost. Learn local bus routes/times and save a fortune on short journeys. Also a good way to get in conversation with the locals.Long distance coach: Just as good quality as you get in Western Europe but only a fraction of the cost. Can sometimes be a bit cold due to overuse of Air-con. Malaysia Air: A little overpriced in my opinion but ok.Air Asia: Low cost Airline but timetables don’t mean a thing. Was delayed every time I used them by 2 hours and will never use them again.Taxis: Avoid unless a) You are in a group of 4 and can split the cost. b) You have money to burn. c) You have no other choice. Many taxi drivers refuse to use the meter (all of them in KL) and if they do often take you by a longer route. The shuttle bus from KL airport to the city centre only costs 20% as much as a taxi. The biggest rip-off of all is when you...
You can drive or take a bus on the East-West Highway connecting Gerik (Perak) to Jeli (Kelantan). From Penang, you can drive to Sungei Petani and then turn to Baling (Kedah) and towards Gerik. From Ipoh, there is a route from Kuala Kangsar to Gerik although more narrow and winding. The scene is spectacular of jungles. Do stop at Banding Island at the reservoir lakeside for coffee and enjoy the view there. Do watch out for changing road repair or conditions.

Like many other places in the world the first place you will probably be ripped off is the taxi. Luckily it seems to work best if you use metered taxis and apparently the prices are fair. If you want to avoid hassles, check that they turn it on!

There is a variety of parking in Penang and throughout Malaysia. Free parking after certain times or on certain days vary by location and check the sign board or notice inside the parking meter or ask a local to confirm.1) Parking meter. Can be 20 sen every 10 minutes, varies. In Penang, you may be given a ticket if you park at a lot where the parking meter is not working - "Rosak".2) Parking attendant. You can pay in advance to the attendant. Or the attendant will place a ticket and update the cost as time goes by. If you cannot find an attendant, usually you can pay within a week to another attendant or at a location indicated on the ticket. Especially when it rains or late in the evening. If you ignore payment, you will get a summon later.3) There are many one-time entry payment or payment by half hours in mult-storey parking in supermarkets or hotels. Most hotels will provide free...
