Favorite thing: You will find information here and in the restaurant tips about the VT meeting while in KL. March 3, 2007.
Fondest memory: Here I met up again with Vigi whom I had seen in Hong Kong a week prior, Pat and Yap, Chia and Diana and Ann, Victor, and of course Valerie who traveled up from Singapore with me.

Favorite thing: As per the first tip above, Manueleb and his family were in town and I had met them in the morning for breakfast before rushing off to do some hurried shopping with my son. Later that night, I met with him again, and this time I also got the chance to meet VT'ers Jenniferchin and cat_y88 It was a first time for me to meet these two lovely ladies. Cat was taller than I expected and a cool and quiet girl.
Jen was about what she seems in her virtual pages...urbane, sophisticated, chatty and friendly. Seemed that Manuel and family had enjoyed a dinner with them and audrey118 (but Audrey had already left when I got there that night.) We met to have drinks at Finnegans, KL (on Jalan Sultan Ismail, near Fortuna Hotel and directly across the road from Pizza Hut) and chatted about everything and nothing. It was a rather charming night to be out, as a drizzle of rain fell lightly upon us from time to time and being a Sunday, the streets were rather quiet. It was so late that the staff started turning off the lights one by one!
(Update June 2006: Cat_y88 has taken her listing off from VT and has resurfaced under a new ID).
PS.
In case you're wondering, mini skirts do not form part of my usual night-out attire. However, that night, I was indeed in my 1960's mini-skirt and boots because I had just come from a dinner with a 1960's Theme. I must say I enjoyed wearing those boots because I look like I'm ready to kick butt in them-they are 3 inch high but very comfortable! (haha)
Fondest memory: By the way, just for the record, Manuel is much younger looking in person-you just have to look beyond the obvious...beard heheh

Favorite thing:
Meeting VT friends is indeed a pleasure. Manueleb, the famous Venezuelan, who is practically an insitution and icon here on VT, who lived and works in Tokyo was in town for a couple of days.
I met up with him and his family-wife Maria, daughter Valentina and son, Pablo. Where to go for breakfast? decisions, decisions. While driving around thoughts flickered through my mind - Dang Wangi nasi lemak-hmmm -may be too spicy, a kopi tiam near Jalan Doraisamy-hmmm not sure if the hygiene level meets up to expectations. In the end, I drove them to Lot 10 and we ate at Hawkers the dai-pai thong styled food court. Not the most creative solution but anyway, Pablo said his noodles was 'oishyi' ("delicious" in Japanese) while Valentina seemed to enjoy the sui kow (water dogs! aka dumplings in soup aka chinese gyoza).
My son and I ate some fish porridge and dumplings. Mrs M had some fried rice with acar, while the big man enjoyed some noodle soup.
Fondest memory: It would be nice to meet & host Manuel and his family again. I wonder when they're planning a return trip to KL?

Favorite thing: Meet VTers and eat! My first full day, I went out to the suburbs and met Wild_Orchid (aka Aunt Agony) who picked me up from the train station. The good Aunty had promised me delicious satay, but the place was closed, so we ended up with good Chinese food instead. We ordered, and Airasia/Lee came to join us....
Lovely...
Fondest memory: I met the best VTers and ate really terrific food with them.....here are some of them, and what we ate.

Favorite thing: Airasia, serious VTer that he is, decided one VT meeting a day wasn't enough, so we had a VT meeting that evening, too. This one was hosted by p_yenyen, and included fizzer67, kenboy, and XXXXX.
Fondest memory: Terrific people...terrific food! Thanks for your great ordering, Lee!

Fondest memory: David (city_guy) is quite a character. Do get in touch with him if you are visiting KL. Not only is he a lot of fun but he is also attending classes to be an official KL tour guide and will be able to give you some useful information.

Fondest memory: I have to be honest and say that, on balance, my second visit to KL was less enjoyable than my first. I think the fleapit hotel I spent my first night in had a lot to do with my feelings.
However, since coming here for the first time I'd got in touch with some VTers and it was really nice meeting up with them.
I am especially grateful to Jen.
