We got a good deal with Air Malaysia and decided to fly with them. It was our first time with Malaysian Air and if you have the choice due to a good travel deal then I would highly recommend them. The service was fantastic, food and wine good and inflight shopping great as well :o)
It was amazing to see such a huge airport upon landing in KL :o) .....It was also our first experience on an airport train. Fancy that?....utilising a train because the airport is so big!! :o)
The only fault with KLIA is that on the way back.....remember to do all your duty free shopping before actually going through the customs check in. We made that mistake.....and once checked in there are not many duty free shops. Perth is the other way around......the major duty free shops are 'after' you pass the customs check in.

It was my 1st time to board Air Asia & I can say I am very satisfied with it considering the cheap fare. It costed P600+ for a one-way trip to Kuala Lumpur from Clark, Philippines. Clark is about 2-hr bus ride from Manila, the Phil. capital. It's very cheap considering the almost 4-hr plane ride. It's also very prompt. I also booked the Skybus from their website for a ride from the LCCT airport to KL Sentral costing RM9. Just book early & be alert of their promos to get cheap fares.

Stay at the airport. very nice cafe at the hotel adjacent to the airport. you can walk around this very nice airport. I dont think you should even consider a trip outside the airport...
there are oodles of shopping areas, free internet, and also a nice food court with good local food.

I was lucky enough to have stumbled upon a great deal by Malaysian Airlines online. I flew from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and only paid $49 SGD (inc taxes). That's almost equivalent to taking a luxury coach from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, minus the 5 hours ride! But of course, it was an early morning flight, 6.50am. But i don't mind waking up early...earlier...though I nearly missed my flight. heh!

While i have tons of respect for Tony Fernandes of Air Asia who has done wonders to Intra-Asia tourism, I am sort of loyal to Malaysian Airlines. I like their service and i also like the fact that they dont nickel and dime and charge for every little thing.
On this flight from Rangoon to Kuala Lumpur, one could have nasi lemak and two glasses of wine.. you could say, you can buy nasi lemak on air asia for 10 ringgit but it is not just the same...
whenever MH is available I will fly them, even if air asia is available..
for example on my next trip to asia.. I will do domestic as well as flfhts to cambodia and rangoon on MH..

It was very pleasant indeed to note that Malaysian citizens can enter Cuba without a visa for a period of 90 days.. what a wonderful gift indeed.. somehow Malaysia has worked good relationships into its foreign policy with african and latin american countries.. the citizens of malaysia can travel to so many countries without visa..

I am rather fond of Malaysian Airlines and whenever I have chance I fly with them.. especially within Asia.. In the last few months, I have flown MH to Burma, Cambodia, India and Australia.
The service is good, they win awards for the services and the food is not bad considering they try to serve you a meal on short flights.
on a recent flight KUL to RGN, meals were served and i was able to enjoy a couple of glasses of red wine too..

Check out Air Asia's web site for details of flights into KL. AirAsia now fly direct to KL from Australia including Melbourne, Perth and Gold Coast. Flights arrive at eh Low cost Carrier Terminal LCCTand you can buy a Sky bus ticket on the flight which will take you to KL Sentral. From there you can get a cab to your hotel.

Malacca where Malaysia Began.
Kuala Trengganu and perhaps the islands and or Kota Bahru with a visit across the border to Thai village.
Kuching is definitely worth it. there are plenty of things to do.
No one seems to recommend Brunei, so I am going to. take the air asia flight on night 1 and spend two days there and come back at night of the night 3. Plenty of unusual things to do, also you would have visited one of the least visited places in South East Asia.
All the Best. Malaysia is truly Asia..
