The Lembah Kiara Recreational Park, located in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, is a popular recreational spot in the middle of the city widely visited by many during weekdays and weekends. Ideal for morning or evening stroll, the park serves as a respite for city folks looking for a little bit of nature to accompany their walks.
You´ll see a nice lake with fountains, little man made rivers, a waterfall. Watch monkeys and different kinds of birds, like the kingfisher. Really a place to relax or exercise.
Entrance is free.
The park is located at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail area (TTDI), not far from 1Utama, at Jalan Abang Haji Openg.

Many travelers would love experiencing the ambience of a tropical forest. But then, there are factors of guide, destination, purposes and most of all time constraints.
Well, not really! The hills around Kuala Lumpur offers plenty of such opportunities. Ranging from a half day [morning only] trip to an all days excursion affair.
Difficulties ranges from easy walk to a strenuous climb.
Having said that and this is quite a diverse topic though within a small confine of jungle walks.
In this page, I would recommend a walk and trekking with difficulty 5 in the scale of 10
A half day climbing in the tropical forest.
This is an 45 minutes climb to the 7 waterfalls in Lata Kanching. Traveling time out of Kuala Lumpur should be an hour in heavy morning traffic and same on return. Getting yourself started another 30 minutes.
The rest, relaxing besides the waterfalls and stopping half around town for lunch - all should be completed within 5 hours.
Take Highway 1 north towards the town of Rawang. Mid-way, about 12 kilometer out of town, the park is on the right after passing the Templer Park Golf Course.
There is car park, and peddlers selling refreshment. Follow the signboard to do the walking up. At the end of the track, the last waterfall is still accessible by climbing up using the roots of tree just beside the waterfall itself.
The walk is very safe as you would not encounter any wild animals or snakes. You would see strange flora, insects or butterfly. There is no chance of getting strayed and lost in tropical jungle as you will be walking on pavements.
The last part with small trail on the steep slope! Use your discretion as it needs some outdoor experiences. Do not stray away from the waterfall area once at the very top.

The Ampang Muslim cemetary by Jalan Ampang is serene and large place under tall green trees. I found its atmosphere quite fine. Most graves are kept in good condition, white colored in Islam style. Although it's by the main road in central KL it doesn't get many visitors but there are some nice view towards Petronas, which is also very near.

Shah Alam is an easy day trip from KL and it is probably most famous for the Blue Mosque with its blue aluminium dome gleaming brightly under the hot tropical sun.
I came here for a little excitement in the jungles of Taman Pertanian with Skytrex Adventure who run a high rope course through the treetops.
You can read more about this jungle adventure on my Shah Alam pages.

One good thing about travelling Free & Easy is that there's no need to follow any schedule. You can choose where you want to visit and also, what time you'd like to have breakfast. Or maybe not have it at all.
One of the places that we visited was Bukit Jalil Park. This is a huge park with equally huge man-made ponds. Even though it was noon, people of all ages were still coming to the park, a testament of how popular the park is.
The park also has its fair share of sprouting water fountains that adds life to the venue. Within the water itself, there were large fishes and also, terrapins. If possible, do drop by the park in the evening when it is not so warm.

This lovely park is less than 3 kilometres north of the city centre and covers 46 hectares.
The main feature is a large lake where you can hire a rowing boat or do kayaking. But you can also do horseback riding or go jogging. There are exercise stations in the park, and also a sports complex with tennis and squash courts. And after all this activity you can eat in a floating restaurant LOL
The building with the striking blue roof that is reflected on the water is the National Theatre.
You also have fabulous views across the lake to the Petronas Twin Towers and the Telecommunications Tower. (A photo of those two attractions reflecting in the water is on my intro page.)

Located in Sentul Park next to KLPAC, this is a little unknown secret of KL. It's a Japanese style garden with a small Japanese restaurant. There are koi fish for sale. The koi fish is not cheap, price ranges from RM200 to RM5000! But it's fun to look at even if you don't buy.
The park can get a bit hot in the afternoon. It's best to go in the morning or late afternoon.
To get there:
1. KTM Komuter Train to Sentul Station, then take a 5 minutes taxi ride
2. Get off at Star LRT Sentul Station, then a 10 minutes taxi ride
3. Take Rapid KL Buses no. U3, U4, U6, U8, U11, U12, U13 & U14 from Titiwangsa LRT Station

Theres a park at the back of the petronas twin towers. theres a fountain in the middle of the park & several benches under huge shady trees. u could grab your fav drink from the supermarket at the basement of the twin towers and head to this spot to chill out. its amazing how relaxing it can be watching the hustle and bustle happening on the opposite side of the fountain as u watch the twin towers.

After you are finished sightseeing and shopping, stop by the water fountains.
They are located in the Kuala Lumpur City Center near the towers and mall.
They are very refreshing and cooling whether you decide to get wet or not.
