    A city map and a guide book are essential items that must be included in your packing list. Many detailed guide books and city maps can be purchased from book stores, souvenir shops and department stores in the city. Guide books contain detailed information on various public transportation and popular cafés, bars, restaurants, duty-free shops, shopping arcades and many entertainment outlets and nightspots in the city. Simple city maps and guide books are usually given free to tourists at tourist information office in the city. They are sometimes available free-of-charge at airports, seaports, bus and train terminals. If you purchase your guide books and maps at home before you travel, you can plan your itinerary immediately. You will be able to save plenty of time and expenses when you travel with proper planning. Of course VT's websites by members help a lot in prepartion of your itinerary.

    Be sure to get the latest and reliable map of KL city. Some maps simply could not be trusted. Its even worse when you are stuck in the middle of traffic. Here's one general map. Not sure if it is the latest though.

  • I got caught off guard when I went to Petaling St....so many "bootleg" stuff but I didn't have much cash and didn't know which are worth buying...next time !

    If you are worrying about not enough bags for packing, let me show you this photo, this is just a small street vendor in Chinatown selling wallets and waist pouches, bigger bag shops are abundant in Kuala Lumpur, you can even come here without packing, just a wallet, passport and ticket of flight.

    OOoooooo does it tonk it down in Kuala Lumpur in rainy April. Which clogs up the whole road system - so your choice is shopping death in a bland megamall, or a frustrating wait for a cab - that will never arrive. There is good news.
