Basically, same thing when you travel everywhere, you'll bring a comfortable bag or a bigger bag bec. you have to make allowance for the souvenir /memento items you'll gonna bring home.
kuala lumpur is a tropical country so the weather is typically hot.wear comfy tshirts and pants,comfortable walking shoes.
if your'e not into spicy foods, bring medicine for anti-diarrhea(loperamide medicines) for your stomach safety.
bring a good camera,best if it comes with a tripod
don't forget to bring cap/hat/foldable umbrella esp.if you tour around during daytime
like me, our electrical outlet in our country is different so, don't forget to bring an adaptor(g-type) for charging of digi cams,cellfones,computer, etc esp. if you sttay in a 3 star hotel. Leave a Comment

Bring empty bags as there'll be tons of shopping to do in KL as its also a lot cheaper than most cities in the world.
Light, cool, and casual clothing is recommended all year round. For more formal occasions, men should wear jackets, ties, or long-sleeved shirts whereas women should wear dresses or go for the local batiks!
No need. You'll find the same items much cheaper here than in their Western counterparts.

Do yourself a favour and get a money belt.
open toed footwear
sunnies, cap/hat, sunscreen.
and also get travel insurance. I was so glad I had one. Always walk against the traffic and on the inside of the pavement, away from the traffic. Clutch your handbag and keep a hand your wallet. Things happen in an instant. Have a paper with all important handy and important tel no's on it, including your hotel number, insurance policy and company numbers, your high commission/embassy etc. Keep a few local coins to make phone calls.

If you're staying in a hotel, any type is ok, as the bellhop will lug it up for you. If u're backpacking, something easy to carry and not too big, as most guesthouses are on the top floor and accessible through a steep staircase.
As the monsoon season is for more than 6 months, expect torrential downpours during such months: Dec to March and May to Sept. Usually during the afternoon, bring an umbrella unless you are willing to wait it out (usually less than an hour) at a nearby building/shelter. You're likely to get soaked otherwise.
You can get most every type of toiletries and medical supplies at the many pharmacies. You can get over the counter medications by signing the 'poisons' book.
Most battery types are available at the many photo shops throughout KL. You can get away with 100 speed if photographing outdoors. But can use 200 just to be safe.
Not much room for camping in KL. As for the beach, nearest would be the pebbly Klang (v. dirty, no one swims there). Usual swimwear, including bikinis can be worn at your nearest pool.
Mineral water as you will lose a lot of water through perspiration. You can try the roadside drinks- fruit juices, air bandung (rose syrup with condensed milk), soya bean milk, but some people's stomachs may not be able to take those, esp. if they include ice. Leave a Comment
