Lock-Lock: Lock-Lock
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Lock-Lock is very popular in Kuala Lumpur. Around Chinatown area and Puduraya area or other locations, Lock-Lock can be found but mostly at the back street or at a less obvious corner. Most tourists did not understand what that is, that' why I saw only local peoples eating Lock-Lock. Don't worry, just present yourself in front of the Lock-Lock stall and pick up one stick you like say the fish ball in stick. Insert the stick of fish ball into the hot boiled water that they provided with the food and after 30 seconds, take out from the hot boiled water to put on some chili sauce or swet sauces also provided by them. Just eat, yeah.

Street vendors and hawkers: Keropok Lekor
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • This food is called Keropok Lekor where we eat with the sauce, not chili sauce but its own special sauce. A very simple food, handy and tasty. Similar to French fries but this Keropok Lekor is about triple bigger in size. Taste is quite similar with French fries as well but more in meaty flavour.

Herbal Medicinal juice is actually the traditional drinks to cure sored throat and heatness of body. It is not sweet as our Coca-cola but bitter taste, something similar to the Irish Guinness stout especially the WLK Wong Low Kut. If you try the Kway-ling-gao, it is even more bitter in taste but that's why we like it. Tourist should try.

Kayu Nasi Kandar: Kayu Nasi Kandar
  • Tip Rating:

  • So far the best Indian foods I have tasted in Kuala Lumpur. The location Petaling Jaya is actually out of Kuala Lumpur border but its just a short distance, therefore I drove there occassionaly for dinner. The price is slightly higher than other Indian foods but the taste too are higher.

You just have to look at the queue to imagine how good the taste is. Wanna try? Click my page for full details.

I think I pick the beef.

Restaurant Lafite - Shangri La Hotel: Exquisite, delicious, romantic & Champagne
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • My prince brought be there for a reason as he said 'I love you and you deserve it'.

When we entered the restaurant my first thought was discreet luxury. It's elegant, it's classy and the chairs are AMAZINGLY comfortable, you will just sink into them and never want to stand up again..
The toilets - OMG, I can hardly find the word for them, is it classy or Stylish or luxury? You name it!

We started with a glass of lovely well chilled champagne served by one of our waiters (we had 4!) and then we continued with choosing the wine...
What did we have for dinner? Peter started with smoked salmon with beluga caviar and I had scallops. For main course we had their fillet of beef, with their home made sauce and potato. Absolutely DELICIOUS!! When it was time for dessert, I couldn’t resist, I had the flambé vanilla soufflé with strawberries on the side and do I even need to tell you exactly HOW delicious it was?

Chinese Tea Ice: Chinese Tea Ice
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Chinese Tea Ice is probably the cheapest drinks we can offer. This glass of Chinese Tea Ice or Chinese Hot Tea cost you only RM0.40 comparing to a bottle of Coke RM1.50 or some occasion gone up to RM3.00

Chinese Tea Ice is for budget tourists. Anywhere in Malaysian, if you go to a restaurant with Chinese words, you can ask for Chinese Tea Ice. This is certainly only for budget tourists not recommended for luxurious tourists. This drink is very Malaysian, a must.

KL (Menara) Tower Restaurant: Seri Angkasa Revolving Restaurant
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • The restaurant serve a buffet of local and international spread from Restoran Seri Melayu.

Due to safety reason the food are not cooked at the tower but at the Restoran Seri Melayu and kept on warmers at the revolving restaurants.

The restaurant is open daily from 12.00 pm to 3.00 pm for lunch and 6.30 pm to 11.00 pm for dinner.

A la carte menus are available for lunch and dinner, as well as buffets.

Just a reminder no short allowed. But not to worry if you wear short they will give you a sarong to wear when you are dining here.

I enjoy the beef rendang, satay and seafood spread.

There is a huge spread of salad and some vegetarian dishes too. Do try the local dishes, desserts and fresh fruits.

I did manage to make my Swizerland friend try the durian dessert. His comment was it smell bad but the taste is Ok. I doubt he want to try it again.
