Here is where my first VT meeting was held,
the food as well as the great company made this night unforgetable!
Favorite Dish:
I really enjoyed the Nasi Lemak (white rice)with the chicken curry and and the Rendang(beaf with spices and coconut milk).Yumm.
Dunno about the prices, because the VTers were so hospitable enough to invite me :-)
Well I've been told so much about Madam Kwan's in KLCC, so I just had to go there..
They recommended me Beef Penang coz it was a typical Penang dish and superb..
So I tried it YIKES! I will never have that dish again! If that was a penang specialty well... then I'm not sure if I'll visit Penang...
However my friend had something else that tasted better, it was actually OK..
Favorite Dish:
Non
Madam Kwan's is a very popular restaurant in KLCC. So popular that at times there are people lining up to eat there.
I personally do not find anything special about the restaurant. The food is average and the service could be better.
But what I find most anoying is that it can get a bit loud in there.
Favorite Dish:
I tried their Nasi Lemak and fried noodle. They are okay.
Great looking modern kopitiam setting in a comfortable restaurant. This is the kind of place that you'll probably meet friends with, come with the family once in a while or just when you have that plain craving for good nyonya chinese fusion cuisine.
Favorite Dish:
Nasi Bojari is a type of indonesian coloured rice that comes with assam prawns, beef rendang and deep fried chicken drumsticks.
Or give the Nasi Lemak a try ! it's rice cooked with coconut milk. Usually eaten with hard boil egg, cucumber, fried anchovies & ' sambal ' - chilli
For desserts, there's the typical ice campur, cendol, bubur cha-cha or sago gula melaka to complete your nyonya melaka dinner experience.
If you are looking for a nice place to try our local dishes, Madam Kwan is the perfect place. They have all sorts of Malaysian food from chinese chicken rice to indian fish head curry and malay nasi lemak. Better be there early and try avoiding lunch and dinner hours or you might have to wait in line.
Favorite Dish:
Nasi Lemak, Nasi Bojari, Fish Head Curry(really really big serving for the fish head curry....if you are going to order this dish, get a bigger table). For desserts: Cendol, Sago and Ice Kacang
Madam Kwan- this restaurant is an offshot from Sakura in Jalan Imbi. The owner originally opened a hair salon and started offering meals for her clients, decided to open the restaurant Sakura. Sakura has been around town at least 20 years back - it was very famous for the nasi lemak, assam dishes etc.
a place to eat local delights and some simple international fare in a cosy environment. Lots of tourist and also locals. Very busy.
We went there for a VT meet together with a VT guest, Vlad from San Diego. The picture is from right, Jenniferchin, Dragonhtml and VTguest, Vlad. And of course my dinner - the nasi bojari
Favorite Dish:
Nasi Bojari - fragrant rice (coloured as well) with side dishes but served on a huge platter. The condiments is a quarter fried chicken, tender beef rendang, half hard boiled eggs, cucumbers and sambal prawns. The serving is too much for me - but should be OK for guys.
Other favourites are Nasi Lemak, and supposedly good chicken rice as well.
The perankan-style decor of the restaurant adds to the flavour of the food served. The price is really reasonable too!! However, the service kind of sucks - the waiters and waitresses pretend that they do not see you, and when you get them to bring you something, they would just conveniently forget about it.
Favorite Dish:
Try the Nasi Lemak, Nasi Bojari and stir-fried Sambal Kang-kong!! Really yummy!!
yummer i tell ya 3 scoops of chocolate ice cream with cream and of coz the cherry... who wanna pop it? and lotta nutsssssssssssssssss
Nice restaurant in Suria KLCC, it offers local Malay food.
Big place, a lot of waiters, but a little bit noisy
Favorite Dish:
Sour and Sweet Prawns are really great!
Madam Kwan's in KLCC's 4th floor. One of the best Fusion Food outlets in town. Great with local foods as well.
Favorite Dish:
Nasi Lemak
