Good taste chicken soup with yellow noodle. You can ask for vermicilli. Extra hot food lover can request for extra chilli. Nasi lemak is also good with wide variety of dishes to choose to accompany the rice. Here you can sample variety of spicy soup indian style. Beef, chicken , lamb, ox tripe, ox tail and ox tongue. There are special selection or version but actually a mix of everything called torpedo and international. Other usual stuff like teh tarik is available. Other thing about this Jalan Doraisamy is about its Nasi Lemak - readily served on the table wrapped in paper. For quick meal, just grab one and ask for your favourite drink. They say a visit to KL wouldn't be complete without the taste of local foods at J. Alor street. The pictures shows some stalls along the street which serves a wide variety of Malaysia's best. Unfortunately when we arrive there, we didnt exactly know how and what to do.. where to eat and what exactly to order. We look for some tables with a lot of people coz we were thinking the food would be great if there were a lot of people dining there. So we took our seat, some lady approach us and gave us the menu. I was looing for those satay, nasi goreng thing but i ddnt find it in the menu so we just ordered what look good on the picture. See my next tip for the rest of the story. Word of mouth from other S'poreans have brought us to the row of hawkers near Bukit Bintang. Look for the hawker with the Mickey Mouse signboard. We were brought into an air-conditioned space. Relatively clean and fast, the menu was a spread.
!!Must try!! 1) Yuan Yang - Mix of Silky Hor Fan and Bee Hoon..Nice nice! 2) Chicken Wings 3) Dai Lok Meen (Pronouced in Cantonese, well, can be translated into..er..Big Spindle Noodles?) Thick, black and Full of LARD - that's what make it nice. Need a workout on the treadmill after this. |
Air Mata Kucing for sure. Coffee and vanilla flavors in dark-brown 'tea' and added with small diced longan 'air mata kucing'. Leave a Comment Theme: LocalPrice: less than US$10 » Currency ConverterComparison: least expensiveAddress: ChinatownDirections: Jalan Penggong, Raja Laut and around |
If you live near Petaling street (chinatown), you can go there for breakfast. Near the crossroad in the middle of the street, there is a row if food stalls. A stall selling chee chong fun (flat white noodles with sweet sauce) is right beside the crossroad junction. Beside that is a porridge stall, vey nice. The coffeeshop further down that street has more variety, but food's not that great. Leave a Comment |
Look no further than the hawker stalls. They generall provide the best and cheapest local cusinies that you can find. General rules is to always go towards the stall with the biggest line. Sure you may have to wait but knowing people are willing to line means that it's good. Always look towards food that are freshy cooked and try to avoid food that has being sitting out for a while. Finally, in Malaysia, food can be spicy at times. So alway have a beer handy.
