Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur
The Midvalley Megamall is one of the biggest mall in Kuala Lumpur... As like other malls, there are a variety of shops selling all type of products and services... It house the region's largest cineplexes together with an exclusive cineplex where you can book the whole cineplex for a private function...It also houses the country's biggest gym...
What to buy: There are 3 anchor tenant for this megamall... viz hypermarket Carrefour, department store and supermarket Jaya Jusco and department store Metrojaya... There is also a large MPH bookstore which is very popular with book buffs... There are also a large variety food outlets for hungry shoppers.... ranging from fast food to speciality restaurant...
Huge mall with lots of international brands. Plenty of food at good prices but the shopping is nothing to boast about. There is variety, yes. But prices there are not particularly cheap. The goods are priced at almost the same price as I would pay in my own country so the mall didn't hold much attraction for me. Not much local shops there, mostly are foreign franchaise shops like TopShop from UK, Nike, Diesel. There is a pet shop in the top floor. The pet shop sucks! Living conditions for the poor animals were so bad, some animals developed skin diseases. Visit the animals there and you'll see what I mean.
What to buy: Local food products, cheap t-shirts, footwear, imitation timepieces of brands like Rolex. Do NOT get electronics there, it's expensive. Food is cheap there so eat up!
What to pay: RM500 should be enough for 3 days.
A great way to spend a whole day in one single Mall!!.. There are loads and loads of shops and all very temptingly good to shop!..The mall is not too upmarket like Suria KLCC or Times Square, but at the same time its a nice expeirence to get some good quality stuff here. Out of the 3 major anchors, Carrefour is the best, followed by Jusco and then the MetroJaya store. The food court is great and has everything for everyone!!..Overall it was a pleasant shopping experience. But be prepared to walk the whole day and be on your feet!!.. May be in the nite you can go and treat yourself to a nice foot massage, so that you are fresh again for the next day trip!!..
MVM is located in between the Federal Highway and Jalan Bangsar. Way back when it was constructed, everybody dismissed it as a failure because of its proximity to Federal Highway - the place where they breed traffic congestions.
But NOW, the congestion to get into MVM is even worst that the federal highway itself , and thats a show of popularity for MVM.
What can you get here that you cant get elsewhere? Nothing - they have everything that you can get elsewhere, but..its all concertrated under one roof.
Anchor tenants here are Carrefour, Jusco and Metro jaya. Between these 3 - you have all that you could want.
Other attractions are, a big Cinema, a one stop IT center, a gym and a bowling alley and the place would not be complete without a giant book store.
And in between you have small retails selling fashion clothing and accesories, food court and restaurants, pharmacies, electrical shops, banks, hardware store and many many stores, too numerous to mention here.
What to buy: Anything and everything
What to pay: Depends on what you're getting
This is also one of the newest malls in KL. If you take KLIA Expres or KLIA Transit from/to the airport you will see how huge it is. It is quite dislocated from the main shopping area of KL which is around Bukit Bintang, so don't try to walk there. Take a TEKSI (as the Malaysians call it). It is huge, it is easy to get around and you can spend more than one day exploring it.
What to buy: Anything - grocery, food, clothes, sport equipment, stationary, jewlery, gifts, flowers,....
You can find what ever you are looking for and much more..... !
Take your time to go around the mall.. stop for a coffee or two and continue with your shopping! It is the paradise shopping center for all "shoppers" :))
If you plan to shop till you drop, this is the ultimate place for you! Midvalley megamall is the biggest shopping centre in South east asia. You can find most of your stuff here from little souveniers to branded designer labels.
What to buy: Anything you want!!!
