Bowling anyone?
Balling, squash, volleyball, bastekball, anything with a ball and I'll be there.

Here I am sturting my thing at Bowling at One-Utama. It's a brand new alley with shiny balls and shoes that doesn't smell like grandma's undies... not that I have gone there.

All equipments are supplies at the venue. All you have to do is bring your own shoe. If not they will sell some to you.

Running & Jogging: Walking or running
Eventhough its a big city with a lot of concrete and steel someone thought about the peoples health and there are some parks. They are very nice to be in , walk in, jog or practice Ti Chi (don't know spelling :( ).
You can feel as you are no longer in the city (maybe some buildings are still visible but still). Pathway on which you can run or walk is made of a the same thing you will find on stadions so its very comfy. There is a pond so you can feed fishes or turtles while talking with your friends or taking a break. There are also some visible dangers. Those are monkeys. Becareful! Sometimes they get close to the paths (on trees or bridge) and they can jump on you :(. The invisible but hearable danger is moskito. But thats when you go to the park at night (its highlighted so you can do so). You don't want to bring malaria with you back home! Park I went to opens at 7am.

    Runing shoes will do.

    Grand Prix Formula 1: Sauber-Petronas-F1
Meet the newest Formula 1 driver on the scene!

Me- at a Sauber-Petronas simulator, at the base of Petronas towers.
Quite a crowd looking on... especially the two kids at the back, who cheered me on as i `raced':P

An Indian driver finally made it to f1 this season. Narain Karthikeyan, long on the sidelines, finally thru to drive for Jordan. Had met with a moderate level of success this far, and has had much media attention coming his way...
In India- he makes the front pages even on days that India-Pakistan cricket is on, which is saying something!

    Sepang Race Track
Seriously, even if your not into motorsports (I'm not), it's well worth checking out the events calender for Sepang International Circuit if you're spending some time in KL. It's not hard to get to (located near KL International Airpot) and makes a different day out.
You can see what's on and book tickets online - I actually got my tickets via email and fax though to make sure I knew what I was getting - then have tickets posted to you or collect them at the circuit. If you choose to collect them you will need photo ID, we weren't made aware of this, but were lucky that Jonathan had his driving license in his wallet.
The tickets are very reasonably priced, particually compared to England, but you can't take food or drink (even water) through the gates - everything is sold inside at a slightly inflated price. It bumps the cost of your day up a little, but not noticably.
The giftshop is cool - loads of good souvenirs and they're really cheap compared to England - I mean, they don't give stuff away, but we expected to pay way more considering it was merchandise.
All in All - An excellent day out!

    White-water rafting - 08012005
Taking a break at a mini waterfall - Kuala Lumpur
Taking a break at a mini

Never in my mind did i think white water rafting - a sport associated with the great outdoors like the U.S. and Europe - would be available in my backyard.
This involved an approximately 7 hour bus ride up north from Singapore, to the town of Kuala Kuba Baru (hope i got it right) in Selangor, Malaysia.
Well, it was quite an adventure being my FIRST white-water rafting trip, with either 7 or 4 to a raft. The best experience must be that of the boat capsizing(which i unfortunately did NOT experience), at which point one gets to soak thoroughly in the cool Selangor River. The flora and fauna that we encountered on the 2.5 hour trip was also quite amazing. I don't list them down here simply because i'm not enough of an expert to know what exacty they are!
A highlight was a waterfall where we were told to take a break, just before encountering the toughest rapids of this trip. The toughest rapids, we heard, would rate at least a 3!

Worn out shoes were recommended by our organizer, so that you can throw it away once out of the water. Spare clothes is also necessary seeing the you will DEFINITELY get wet and of course ideally, a water-proof camera to capture the moments.

Grand Prix Formula 1: Formula 1 madness at the hotest race on Earth
Formula 1 at KL is an amazing experience. This ultra modern country has delivered a truely amazing track where the F1 race is held. It's been the first race ever for me to have attended and it's even better then the one in China which has only started to be held in 2004.

What is so special about the track:

1 From the seats I held which was Silver at the end of the straight looking onto the starting grid is an amazing spot to view a big piece of the track. Secondly the cars are nearly stopping in front of you giving you a great view.
2 The transportation from and to the track by Peterson Travel was easy quick and never did we have a traffic jam which we hit
3 On race day don't miss your scheduled bus departure as going by train and bus is so crowded, people were litterly hanging out of the bus on their way to the track
4 Bring lots of drinks and food with you as it is very hot on the track especialy if you are not in the shade

Yeah, yeah ... at this section maybe I use "power" as a journo in field of automotive-sport related. But well, watching F1 is something great. Not only the race and the track itself, but the probability to meet the legends! Like Sir Sterling Moss or Jackie Stewart [and 4 years ago, Alain Prost also present himself!!!] at hospitality of F1 teams. Here I took picture with Sir Jackie [thanks for Yura who help me to take this picture. His brother was working as a chef at F1 Team and we meet at McLaren hospitality. PS: where are you now, Yura? Miss you ;)]

Sublock, capri trousers, baseball cap, mineral water, umbrella .. since the temperature more than 30 degrees Celcius!
