Chinatown is K.L's original Chinatown with an unmistakable Oriental atmosphere is evident particularly at night when traders spread out their wares along the street. Bargaining is definitely a must here.

Okey..okey..We just passed out this must visit place..I come from Bangkok so, I guess, there's no need for me to go there..But I noticed that the government are renovating the Chinatown? And the people are waiting for the new Renovated Chinatown! Hmmm..it might be very nice..But for those who fancy haggling around the place, some told me it's best to go there by night? I don't know...The photo well show you they really are renovating!
Must see sights are those little shops and street vendors of Petaling Street and the oddly-sited Mahamariamman Hingu Temple just around the area and the Kwong Siew Chinese Temple.

The heart of Kuala Lumpur's original CHINATOWN and a bustling night market serving as a bargain hunter's paradise and one of the premier shopping areas in the city with its distinctly oriental atmosphere

Wandering along Petaling Street gives you a good insight into this area of the city. The street is colourful and covered with market stalls and shops with Chinese writing. Many of the market stalls sell fake goods of famous designers. Some of them are excellent copies at a reasonable price. You can also see exotic foods, drinks and spices on sale. Part of the street is closed to cars but care is still needed because scooters still seem to be driven along this stretch. The area seems to be much more atmospheric than Chinatown in Singapore.

This is the center of KL's Chinatown district. By day, stroll past hawker stalls, dim sum shops, wet markets, and all sorts of shops, from pawn shops to coffin makers. At night, a crazy bazaar (which is terribly crowded) pops up--look for designer knockoffs, fake watches, and pirate VCDs (Video CD) here.

I strolled through China Town for more than 1 hour. I like all the stalls selling so many things. Even if you buy nothing it's worth to walk around.
Very much I liked all the fresh fruits they sell there at a very low price.

If you are looking for cheap audio cd's, cd-roms, vcd's and dvd's this is the place to go. All illegal of course and a lot of movies are in bad quality, but hé, it's cheap, so don't complain. (Taking these things back home is at your own risk of course)
Even though everything is already cheap it's still worth to bargain a little.

CHINATOWN and its 'pasar malam' (night market) is a must for a KL visitor! This is the place to buy some souvenirs as well as fake stuff (watches, t-shirts...), but also to taste exotic fruits, drinks and local food. CHINATOWN is also a good place to wander around at daytime, and there are some interesting Chinese and Hindu temples in this area.

The center of Kuala Lumpur's original Chinatown. Petaling Street maintains much of its traditional atmosphere, particularly at night when vendors spread their wares out on the street. While it is possible to purchase anything from gems and incense to toys and t-shirts here, enjoying the night market is really a matter of just wandering about and enjoying its sights, sounds, and energy.

Bargain? Yeah! Chinatown as it known, where you might heard often and it is the most common places that visited by travellers! Many travellers come to Chinatown because of the bargain business!
Lots of goodies, anything from watches to handbags but believe me, all those are not original and not long lasting but it's damn cheap thats all.
