The Chinese Temple is just outside of KL on a hill. You have a great view from up there and so much things to see and do at the temple. Outside the temple were many little and some bigger statues and some of them were the chinese zodiac signs.

Took a while for us to find it and yes once we got there we didn't really know how to get back to the city centre again but it was definatly worth the dodgy bus ride with lots of scarey people. Thean Hou is huge and best seen at night when it's all light up by millions of fairy lights. You could nose into virtually every nook and cranny and explore everywhere in the temple. We were fortunate to stumble across some sort of celebration and saw a performance of chinese dragons. The views of KL from Thean Hou were amazing too. Don't forget to make your wish and receive your fortune.

I just love chinese temples with their little winged roofs which sometimes make you wonder how everything stays dry. The temple is up on the hill just outside KL and gives you a wonderfull view over the city

Lawrence took us to the Chinese Temple just outside of KL on a hill. You have a great view from up there and so much things to see and do at the temple. Outside the temple were many little and some bigger statues and some of them were the chinese zodiac signs, so I just had to take a pic of me with the ram, actually I think they call it a goat.

This is the oldest temple in Kuala Lumpur and was founded by Yap Ah Loy, Kuala Lumpur's third Kapitan China... Endowed with elaborately carved pillars, beams, altars and decrorative items as well as paintings and photographs, the temple is a treasure trove of antiques and artworks that reflect the local Chinese's unique culture...
It houses the sculptures of patron deities Sinn Sze-Ya and Si Sze-Ya as well as other deities including the Goddess of Mercy (Guan Yin), the Deity of Education Man Cheong, the White Tiger Pak Foo, Thai Soi, Choi Sun and Choi Pak Seng Kuan...Some spaces on the altars are dedicated to Kapitan Yap Ah Loy...
A must visit for those interested in Chinese architectural style...

It is possible to visit the various mosques around the city. The easiest and most frequently visited in central KL are the Masjid Jamek near Central Market, and the National Mosque near the old railway station.
Visiting hours are posted on the main gate. Friday is prayer day, so plan your visit for a different day of the week. If you show up in shorts, a tank top, or a skirt showing your legs, you will be loaned a garment to cover yourself. In addition, women are required to cover their hair. Shoes must be removed before entering the sanctuary.
Many of the mosques in KL are architectural masterpieces, so don't miss the opportunity to visit if you are able.

It was built in 1909 making it KL's oldest mosque. Sits right at the point where two rivers, the Kelang and Gombak rivers, meet - the birthplace of Kuala Lumpur.
It features graceful arches and domes reminiscent of the moorish era.

Down the Batu Cave there is a big hindu art gallery in down caves.
Valluvar was a poet saint who lived some two thousand years ago. He was bom in Mayilaapur in Tamilnadu State, India.
Valluvar was a pious man with a strict sense of duty. He served the King, his family and society faithfully and honestly. He had a keen intellect and a fluent mastery of the Tamil language.
Although he was a Householder, he was a sagely and learned person filled with sincere devotion to God. His poems are maxims and homilies to guide his fellow human beings in the proper conduct of their lives. The poems, 1,330 pithy couplets, are filled with sagely wisdom meaningfully consistent with all times.
Overseas Tamil Indians have designated the Tirukkural as their "holy scripture" equivalent to holy books of other religions.
The cave walls of the Valluvar Kottam are covered with statuary exhibits, murals and inscriptions of the poet's couplets. Unfortunately, the inscriptions are in Tamil without any translations or explanations to help the non-Tamil speaking visitor.
The exhibits are used to illustrate relevant couplets from the Tirukkural, his entire works. Valluvar Kottam is so lit that the atmosphere of a silent cave is well preserved.

These temple is the biggest one around KL. There are only few of us visitors and I almost feel again to the stairs as I wasn't paying attention to where I was going..though the place is quite beautiful and far from the temple you can see the city across. I guess, it's pretty nice if you'll go there around the evening or maybe it's not allowed. The temple itself has its own souvenir shop. You can check them out in the bottom of the building.
