The museum is housed in a modern complex and is the largest for Islamic art in Southeast Asia... Occupying 30,000sq m, it has a total of 12 galleries housing more than 67,000 artefacts, as well as an exceptional library of Islamic art books... Its display range from the tiniest pieces of jewellery to one of the world's largest scale model of the Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, all originating from Persia, Middle East and Asia...

One of the museum's famous features is the Inverted Dome Pavilion... The Iamm Auditorium can seat around 250 people... Adjacent to it is the Rehal Terrace, an additional display area, or banquet area, to complement events or functions held at the auditorium...

The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm...

In addition to Islamic art, there is also a large exhibit of Asian artifacts.
There is an onsite restaurant serving Arabic cuisine. It is very good. There was a set menu available, a 3 course lunch.
There are 2 floors for the museum & also a large gift/bookstore.
