    Fire Cup Massage

    by global-drifter Written Nov 9, 2010

Cupping is a traditional form of Chinese medicine going back thousands of years. It involves suction on the skin, and sucking out all the bad properties but replenishing the good, much like leeches were used in the middle ages. The process is painful, with each fitted cup feeling like a clothes peg on a nipple. The cups are left on for about 20 minutes, while the masseuse leaves the room to laugh about my painful state with anyone (everyone) else present. With each cup removed, there is an overwhelming feeling of relief although the dark spots left by the cups inform me of serious health issues.

Excellent Massage Place - Touches de Siam

by Fudge Written Jan 25, 2009

I was skeptical initially thinking it would be one of those overcharged Massage places. But was pleasantly surprised that besides the Masseuse being Thai and very good, they were not overcharging or out to get the tourist dollar.

In fact I found out abt it from a local and their clientele is more local than travellers.

Very good massage and i would go back there whenever i"m back in KL!

(Excuse their tacky name, but they do a good job!)
I got a one hour massage for RM 60. (abt US$25)

    Massage...

by LiL... Written Dec 27, 2007

I have been to many massage places in town, but this is my favourite because of the service, ambience and value for money. I like the nice smell and the fact that they serve free flow fresh fruit juice and assorted fruits for free. Also, when u do a foot reflexology, they place a heated pillow for you to lie on and around your neck. The masseuse there are mostly from China and my favourites are Number 45 ( LehYu ) and 61 ( Yi Pang ), 65 ( Pin ) and 2 ( Ah Chiang ). If you want to do manicure and pedicure, please ask for NiLu. She does a fantastic job. But please remember to tip them RM$5 ( USD$1.50 ) because they do not earn much.
Each Session costs RM$50 ( USD$15 ) and lasts about an hour. You can ask them to do other types of massage such as step massage - yup.. they actually step on your back with their skillful feet, balinese massage, cupping - you back will look scary after that, ear candling, etc etc etc.
They are open from 11 a.m. to 4 a.m. so it's a nice place to goto after your clubbing !

    Massages...

by elmasri Updated Jun 16, 2006

Everywhere you go you will see massages advertised. Reflexology massages are also everywhere in the pavements around shopping malls but just one or two suggestions:

Wellness Sanctuary Studio, Plaza Damas. They can collect and take you back from wherever you are. As it was my birthday and my friend lives near Plaza Mont Kiara we asked for transport. The massage was good and the service too.

The other good massage I has was far away from the centre near Hartamas shopping mall. Do your nails at Creative Nail boutique inside the mall. There are good restaurants here too. see tip.

    Massage & Reflexology

For a fantastic massage in professional surroundings go straight to John at CN Health & Beauty located on Level 1 or 2 (can’t remember) of Low Yat Plaza.

This is better than the walk in one as it’s a proper health clinic so you get your own massage room that is clean and feels like a spa. You also get that nice relaxing music instead of listening to all the bustle of the street outside.

Make sure you have a one hour massage followed by reflexology. John specializes in reflexology and it’s amazing what he can tell you about your health. The good thing is he suggests vitamins and diet changes to help you.

Best Friend Foot Massage & Health Therapy

A massage in KL is an absolute must especially if you're all tired after a long flight. There are heaps of massage places concentrated in this area. My favourite one is Best Friend Foot Massage and Health Therapy. All along here the staff members at all the massage stores try to coax you in with reflexology pictures of the souls of feet. Best Friend Foot Massage is distinctive as you can see all these blue reclining soft chairs lined up inside and cubicles separated with curtains for the body massage. The cost for either reflexology for 1/2 hour or upper body massage for 1/2 hour is only RM35. One hour is only RM60.

I have tried a few masseuse' here and the best by far is this lady called Hong. She really knows where to find the tight spots and advised me to drink more water and get more sleep. You can contact her directly on 016 358 3975 to make sure she is working at the time you want to go. They open at around 11am and close around 3am.

My brother had a male masseuse who did a really good job with the reflexology, explaining what different parts of the foot relate to in the body.

Although the surroundings aren't anything like the spa at the Westin Hotel, the massage is worth it. A nice touch is the complimentary sealed mineral water they hand to you with a straw to drink.

If your surroundings are really important you can ask Hong to come to your room for RM20 extra to cover travel time.
