I always heard of Putrajaya and about the beautiful bridges and buildings it had of Parliment. Anyway I set out to the see the place so I jumped the train to go and check it out. Anyway when I left the train station I jumped a bus to Putrajaya. To my suprise I found that Putrajaya is Huge and that everything is far from each other. I managed to get off at a point and walked on this bridge whereby I could see the Perdana Putra which is the office of the Prime Minister and the Putra Mosque which is absolutely beautiful. I happend to see only one of the Putra brigdes but the other one was far away. Anyway Putrajaya is a very beautiful and very clean place and a great place if you wanna do some relaxing shopping. So if you wanna go there by train do so but don`t take a bus from the station just take a cab from there to show you around.

This is another thing that I wanted to do as I had heard from my vt friends that the bridges in Putrajaya are stunning especially at night, so this is on our must see list for next visit. Our driver took is for a driving tour of Putrajaya on the way to the airport. I'm glad he did because we could see what wonderful stuff that we missed out on in order to build our appetite for next visit to KL.
As Richard explained, Putrajaya is where the Government buildings are and Government staff are housed, just like Canberra in Australia. It is a separate Federal Territory just like Canberra. In fact a lot of things there reminded me of Canberra like big wide clean streets with nice plants and lovely lake that I believe is man made. The only difference was the couple of nice bridges that I spotted and these are on my must see list to come again and take photos in the night.

We didn't go up to the top of the KL Tower as we ran out of time to do everything so this will be on our list for next visit.
I have since found out that there is a Maccas up at the top. Phew!!....glad the kids didn't cotton on to that one!! ;o) Amazing hey!!... eating at the highest Maccas in the world!! :o) As it was the kids ordered Maccas delivery to our hotel as that is a novality ..... Australia doesn't do delivered Maccas.
Anyway....enough of Maccas...... I also hear that the revolving restaurant up at the KL Tower is pretty good so next time we are in KL that is what I plan to do - watch the sun go down whilst eating at the revolving restuarant viewing all of KL from the KL Tower.

Putrajaya is the new federal administrative capital, just half hour drive from the city. It is hailed as an intelligent garden city, famed for its innovative design harmonising nature & development. Attractions include Perdana Putra administrative bldg & Seri Perdana, official residence of prime minister. Putra Mosque & Putra Square are other unique attractions. Bridges are a striking feature boasting of distinctive designs. There's also Wetland Park & Botanical Gardens for nature lovers. You can also take the Tasik Putrajaya Cruise beside Putra Mosque for 45 mins til 7pm for RM30.
We were brought here by our gracious host, Mr. Aznan who later gave us a taste of delicious Satay in Kejang & yummy durian.

Hi,
Going to Malaka from Kuala Lumpur, you can take bus from Pudu Raya Bus Station. There many bus go to Malaka. I choosed Transnational Bus. At tht time (3 years back) they charged less than 10 MYR.
The journey will take 2,5 hours.
For Putrajaya, i dont know abt the bus to go there. I ever saw it but i didnt notice.
Or you can take train to Putrajaya, and then take bus from there to go to Putrajaya complex. It is very near.

I am not sure about Cameron Highland if you want to travel 1 day trip as i dont visit that place yet.
But I did my own trip to Melaka 1 day. I took bus from Pudu Raya Bus Station early morning (around 7 AM). Using Transnasional bus. Plenty busses go to Melaka. I bought bus ticket to return back to KL for my trip evening time. It was fun get around Melaka town by three wheel cab. The driver will take to some interesting places and also some local foods.
The other place that worth to visit for 1 day is Putrajaya. The lake, the bulding, park, bridge are very impressive. It is not far from Kuala Lumpur.

Because of kindness we were fortunate meeting Chuck another VT member who put so much time showing us many interesting places in Kuala Lumpur. He took us to Putrajaya. We learned from him that it's area covers a little over 4,930 hectores. Also that this Putrajaya happens to be the newest or if not the latest of Federal Territory of Malaysia which is besides Kuala Lumpur as well as Labuan.
Many locals says that the place was chosen because it is between KL Airport and KL, both locations had an almost same distance from Putrajaya.
When visiting Putrajaya we would suggest that you come first thing in the morning, that way you can really relish the large area of Putrajaya. Below attached are photos of our great VT friend "CHUCK"!

When you visit KL, don't lose Putrajaya and specially the boat cruise. With many modern buildings and great artitechture, Putrajaya depicts the way of the development in Malaysia.
The great mosque is really a must visit case in Putrajaya. Note that non-muslims can't enter the indoor part of the mosque and all women should wear the special dress to cover their bodies and hair. The dress is provided at the entrance of the mosque.

We visited Putrajaya, the new city. We were impressed with many of the buildings structure. The interesting architecture of the mosque's which has strong Persian and even Turkish influence. The interesting design of the bridge's. The city has modern outlook.
When we were there the scenery is a bit sterile because I think it's still new, the trees is not fully grown, perhaps in ten years time it will look more natural.
The boat cruise (Cruise Tasik) on man made lake is a must.
