Hmm..I was trying to sneak out looking for a nice ops but hey, its a guarded residence and even the roof you can't see only those guards. when we we're there it was in time for the visit of the French Prime Minister Chirac, so there are lot's of guards outside..maybe because they're waiting for the visit?

You can take a look at the huge area of the king´s palace - visiting is not possible as far as I know. But it is said that there is a new Palace planed by the king.

You can see the Royal Guards dressing with the Malay costumes and British ones. No entry fees. Usually this tour is arranged within a city tour for 3 hours. Check with your hotel tour organizer.
For a stop of about 10 minutes, you can see the Royal Palace with its bigs gardens, in your way to other spot of KL
One doesn't get further than the entrance gates but it is part of the ½ day trip and well worth seeing if in the vicinity.
