The Sunway Lagoon Waterpark and Surf Beach is easily the most popular area of the Sunway Lagoon and they have many rides and attractions. The only problem we had is that due to the rains (they close the attractions during inclement weather) , they closed the rides so we could not possbily do all of them, so we just settled on hanging around Victoira Falls, Lake Keriba, The Wave Pool and Zambezi River plus riding the 5D Waterplexx Ride as these areas are still possible to go even when it was raining.
The Sunway Waterpark and Surfbeach comprises almost half of the area of the Sunway Lagoon and is derinitely the main attraction of the Theme Park. It has quite a number of attractions for guests like Zulu Walk, Waterpark 5D, Cameroon Climb, African Pythons, Vuvuzela, Congo Challenge, Kalahari Kids, Little Zimbabwe, Lake Keriba, Zambezi River, Victoria Falls, Giant Tipping Bucket and the Wave Pool.
you also need to rent inflatable tubes to ride some of the attractions like Vuvuzela, African Pythons, Congo Challenge.
due to the pesky rains during our Sunway Lagoon Adventure, we only tried Surf Beach, Wildlife Park and Some Rides at Waterpark as they automatically close most of the attractions during inclement weather, whicn is frequent around the Petaling Jaya Area.
The Wildlife Park is located between Scream Park and Amusement Park and it contains
more than 150 species of exotic animals (like monitor lizards, different snakes, different birds, primates and more) from across the globe and some of then are located along the glass enclosures along the several trails and also at the huge aviary in the middle of the wildlife park. they also have some animals on display at the boardwalk facing the man made lake.
Opens: 10:00 am to 6:00 pm everyday

Sunway Pyramid is a distinctive retail landmark located in the heart of Petaling Jaya. It was opened in July 1997 as Malaysia's first themed shopping and entertainment mall.
One of the mall's most easily recognised designs is the Egyptian-inspired Pyramid with a lion "standing guard" at the entrance. Sunway Pyramid is also one of the only shopping malls in Malaysia to have an indoor ice skating rink.
Enjoy a host of water & land attractions at this theme park, located in the suburb of Bandar Sunway. Each of its themed sections offers fantastic rides & attractions. The Waters of Africa takes one on a fantasy journey into the wilderness of this continent. The Wild Wild West transports you into a cowboy town, where more adventures await. Enjoy a stunning view of the entire lagoon from the world's largest pedestrian suspension bridge.

Sunway Lagoon is excellent fun for both kids and adults. Go during the week if you can to avoid crowds. Note that they don't allow food or drinks to be brought in. All bags are checked.
Mums and dads who have kids old enough to let loose but not old enough to be left unsupervised, should bring a book to while the time away while the kids rampage through the place.
The Sunway Lagoon is a mix of shopping mall, resort hotel, and theme park. The shopping mall (called The Pyramid) is really nice and it has many shops, food courts, restaurants, an ice rink and cineplex cinema. The exterior of the shopping mall is really amazing because a whole pyramid and a sphinx were built in front of it. Outside, along the arcade, there are small trendy restaurants and bars to cater to the evening crowds.
I didn't try out the water theme park because it didn't look so great. However, I did visit the Sunway Lagoon Resort Hotel, which I find to be OK.
Latest Update (01/2008)
Now, there is a new second Pyramid shopping complex adjacent to the original Pyramid. Apparently it is bigger and better than the first one. I do not envy the residents staying near and around the Sunway Lagoon district area. That place will be one heck of a traffic jam hell-hole every hour and everyday of the week!
I added a little bit about Sunway Lagoon. As mentioned, it is located in the heart of Bandar Sunway. I have not added the stones exhibition in Sunway Lagoon. There were many kinds of limestones which were on display. Gems, Jade, Ruby...wow, they are just mesmerizing!!!!! And yes Buddhist artifects were also displayed.
If you have a day to spend, why not spend it here at Sunway Lagoon. My bf and I spent a day at the sunway lagoon and had much fun. Sunway Lagoon is a major amusement park in Kuala Lumpur. You can have fun with water at Waters of Africa or take on the fun rides at Wild Wild West.
