    Cooling off

When venturing about KL city, you undoubtly feel the heat cooking you alive during the middle of day. Here is a perfect solution to your problem. Find your way down towards the park that's connect to KLCC and look for the waterfall. Take your shoes off and dip in the water under the shades of the overhanging trees. Relax here for a while before facing the world again.

    Find someone to Love

by kphstar Written Jul 4, 2005

At the back of KLCC, you find a beautiful park for the whole family. Walk around the pond, and ejoy the refuge from the hustle and bustle of KL city.

Jump in the water and find the locals. Don't let the big security men with their big batten deter you. :)

This is a huge shopping centre with all the brand names such as Gucci, channel, Diesel etc all at great prices (well compared to australia anyway).

There are rows of digital camera stores as well.

Worth a visit, one of Malaysia's best!

    Major Firework Celebrations

by mizzzthanggg Written Jan 13, 2005

    4.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

Every New Year's Eve (save for exceptional circumstances like this year's tsunami disaster), and also on our Merdeka Day (i.e. Malaysia's National Day on 31st August) they'll put on some rocking fireworks displays in the KLCC Park by the PETRONAS Twin Towers. Around midnight, after the usual countdown, the sound of the fireworks reverberate off the surrounding buildings and make it really loud and festive. There will usually also be concerts and parachuters or base jumpers jumping off from the upper levels of the Twin Towers. Great stuff!

But be warned of course, the traffic jams around the main roads leading up to KLCC during such events are pretty bad. Hundreds of cars also take the opportunity to park 5 or 6 rows strong along the nearby Ampang Elevated Highway and wherever else there is a good view.

Oh, actually the fireworks happen in 3 major locations - at KLCC, at the Bintang Walk, and at the Merdeka Square. But of course, the KLCC ones are the best (more photos in my travelogue)!

I just wanted to highlight the Christmas Tree which they put up in Suria KLCC shopping center every December, right in the middle at the concourse level. It's a mammoth, gargantuan tree, decorated with various sizes of purple balls and baubles and yellow lights, and it's simply amazing to see, especially for the first time!! It reaches right up to the top floor of Suria KLCC so catch it at the different angles.

    huge-ass xmas tree!

    Shopping Heaven

by teemsum Written Nov 26, 2004

The Suria KLCC is at the Twin Towers.
This is a huge mall! There are 4-5 floors. All the name brands are here. You need at least 4 hours to browse to your heart's content.
The food court is on the top floor. You can have lunch for $2 CAD.
    For inexpensive souvenirs, try Watson's.

SHopping and dining at Suria KLCC

    by Nit_4 Written Sep 12, 2004

6 floors of shops, restaurants, food courts, a Petroscience centre for kids and adults alike, cinemas and bookshops with breathtaking views of KLCC park and gardens. A one-stop shop for tourists too as it houses many shops and stalls selling local arts and crafts. Prices a bit more dear compared to Central MArket and Petaling Street but even so at RM3.8 to US$1 or RM6.9 to GBP1, you still get pretty much great value for money!!

    The "lepak" corner for KL

    by blue_b Updated Aug 10, 2004

Given a place so big, with a large fountain at the center, along with the tallest twin towers, it makes this place the place to be to "lepak" (Malay for loiter) for everyone in KL.

People from all walks of life, young/old, come together at Suria KLCC to just spend the weekend away at this spot, they set up picnics, sit by the side, or some can just simply spend the day away with friends just hanging around the area..

Every evening, the water fountain dances with the lights and will cease at around 8pm for the evening prayer and the prayer chants are aired loudly over the Suria KLCC PA system.

Spend a rainy afternoon in the KLCC Suria shopping centre.
I am not a shopper generally and I don't hang about in malls! However, one rainy day, my last in KL on my 2001 trip, I was at a loose end. So I went to see Fellowship of the Rings at KLCC Suria and then spent the afternoon drinking coffee at the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. There are lots and lots of shops there for those who like to do that sort of thing and outside there is a very nice park with a wonderful shiny whale sculpture that I had to go and take a photograph of.

    Go shopping!

by syllybabe Written Feb 7, 2006

We had half a day left to see some of KL and what did we do? We went shopping at Suria KLCC. With Chinese New Year coming that week, there were lots of sales going on in most of the stores.
