    KL is a major base for the low cost carrier Air Asia. We flew from KL to Macau, a three hour flight in a modern A320 airplane at a very good price - book early for best prices.

    KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) is the best introduction of what XXI century Malaysia tries to show to foreign visitors: a shining, brand new airport with futuristic architecture, good shopping areas and an efficiently organisation.

    Although it is located far away from the city center, an express railway takes you to the Central Station in just half an hour.

  • KLIA is located about 45 kms from KL. It might serve you weel if you know a couple of
    estimated prices to get to KL (as of April 2003):
    - KLIA express train (to KL Sentral) is the best choice for one person, 35 RM ro the city, 70 RM return (adults), special rates for return in 6 hours and frequent flyers, see: www.kliaekspres.com
    - buy a voucher at the taxi stand in the arrival hall: 92 RM for a cab, takes you to any place in KL (so no need for further transportation)
    - for 2-3 people the best choice might be to bargain for a cab, you will see people hunting for you. We travelled both metered and unmetered (meaning km price + highway tolls), there is no big difference between them, bargaining in advance makes it more reliable. 60-70 RM is a good price.

    Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is a new airprt of Maysia. It was large and clean with full of green trees and plants. I am proud that a Japanese architect designed it.

    Malaysia Airlines System (or MAS) is the national airline of Malaysia... It is a full service airlines that flies both domestic and international routes... With it main hub at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), its network fans out throughtout the world...

    If you are flying into any city/town in Malaysia from overseas, the best option is to fly MAS thru KLIA... There will be seamless hassle-free connection... You can also book your airtickets online it its website... and check its extensive flight schedules online as well...

  • Malaysian Airlines are a average airline. Our flight from Melbourne (Australia) to Kuala Lumpur in economy class got delayed 1.5 hours because of 'technical' problems. The flight entertainment systems were great, but the food was very ordinary. Then because of the delay, we missed our following flight and we had to run to catch the flight to penang. When we arrived, as we had to run, our bags weren't with us. Despite the bags being at the airport early the next day (9.00am) they werent delivered as promised and we got them at 2pm. On the flight home to Australiain economy class the plan got delayed because of the weather, but then we recieved a further delay because another 'technical' delay. The flight was good and they served for a late supper (midnight) chicken and rice and some beef or something. That was a lot better quality food than before. But the only thing that at 2:00 in the morning they had still let the cabin lights on so it was hard to get to sleep. Overall i wouldnt fly malaysian airlines again through bad experience, i would give Malaysian Airlines a 5/10.

    The LCCT is specifically built at KL International Airport to cater to the growing passengers of the Low Cost Airlines especially the passengers of Malaysia's first `no frills' airline, Air Asia. It is located 20km away from the KLIA Main Terminal Building (MTB).

    The 35,290 square metres terminal is designed to suit the Low Cost Carrier business model that requires basic terminal facilites and amenities. With this in mind, the terminal is designed to facilitate the passengers' movement of internal and domestic departures / arrivals within a single floor operation area.

    Shuttle services are available to transfer passengers between the LCCT and the MTB, vice versa.

    The LCCT is has common facilities and amenities for the convenience of the passengers and users of the terminal. Retail and F&B outlets are located at the Public Concourse and at Departure and Arrival Halls for both International and Domestic areas. Duty Free shops are available at the International Arrival & Departure Lounges.

    Recent addition to the LCCT is the check-in kiosk. You can check-in yourself at these terminals by keying in your name and ticket confirmation number. Just a snap and you will get your boarding pass printed out. For domestic flight, there's even web check-in. It's really more convenient and easier now. You can check in via web 6 hours before departure.

    Took Singapore Airlines SQ857 from HKG to SIN and then transfer SQ 112 from SIN to KUL. Both flights from HKG via SIN to KUL was very enjoyable. Singapore Airlines was one of the best airlines I have taken. The service and flight attendants were wide-class.

    fly malaysian airlines air malaysia into KL from diffferent parts of the world.
    the beautiful sarongs make the ladies look very attractive. the oriental face is a change from the usual asian or european look.
    the service is good by the ladies but male attendants poor fellows they just try to finish the job.
    arriving into KLIA is a pleasure.
    beer is served without hesitation. and requests are generally not turned down for milder beverages.
    inflight enetertainment system is archaic.ausio is very poor quality.
