Buses & Coaches: Singapore - K.L. Causeway Link Express

  • Going from Singapore to KL, take Causeway Link bus express from IMM (Jurong East, Singapore) to Puduraya Bus Terminal (Jalan Pudu, Kuala Lumpur). Tickets are as low as SGD25/way, SGD50 for 2ways. Busses used are 25seater coaches. This is the cheapest coach service compared to others for the Singapore-KL bus route. For more info, click on the given link below to the coach company's website. From the wbsite's homepage, click on"Express Bus Services" for more info on the Express Bus route.

Buses & Coaches: First Coach Singapore - Bad Experience
  • By SingaporeTravelBug on November 1, 2007
  • Kuala Lumpur Page by SingaporeTravelBug
  • Hi Everyone,

We had a very bad experience with the arrogant and bad customer service with First Coach Singapore, from staff to manager to director. We feel they are unreasonable and don’t care if they lose customers with their bad attitude.
We feel that the staff in Singapore are badly trained with communication problems.

We have hardly ever encountered such bad service in this industry.

It was a great disappointment to us as we had felt that the trip they provided was good enough that we used their service regularly for many months. Nevertheless, it only takes one very bad experience to lose our pre-paid tickets to warn others not to risk a similar experience. This happened because their staff neglected to communicate vital information to us. The manager even said that they WITHHOLD this information despite the risk to customers! The management took no responsibility, defended the staff and and blamed it on us.

We lost our money but we learned from the experience and want to warn others.

Our advice? Stay away from First Coach if you want hassle free bookings and travel. There are many other coaches traveling to KL that are excellent.

We’re using Airbus next. Will keep you posted if we love their service.

Buses & Coaches: Bus from Singapore to KL and then Cameron Highland

  • I took a night coah from Singapore in May 2005. What a great experience ! Since we got on the bus at 9:30PM then we arrived in KL at 2:30AM, I and my friend was surprised that it's so fast. Since our destination was Cameron Highland, we took a taix instead of bus to go to CH. But it was so expensive it took us RM $400 for a ride by taxi (I've got 3 friends together ). After we discussed, we took it ! As we didn't know much KL in midnight plus it was on Wednesday, so we had no choice but taxi. I think it suppose to including the returned fee for the driver to back to KL.

But it's kind of the fastest traffic too, we arrived in CH almost at 6:00AM. It took only 3 and an half hour !!! The taxi driver was in great driving skill and only stop once. When we back to KL by the coach in CH, the bus stoped several times and took almost 5 hours.

Out of my expectation, the journey from Singapore to KL was comfortable and the Bus we took NICE , gave us a huge sandwishes and a bottle of water. My friend was great she could ate it up at mid-night !:P

My friend bought the ticket from the travel agent in Singapore. I think it's not hard to buy in one of the travel agent in Singapore. And we got the bus at Corpthorne Orchid Hotel.

  • If you fly with Air Asia for example, you have to get to the Sulatn Abdul Aziz Shah Airport for low cost carriers. One way to get there is by bus connection from sentral. Since I missed the last one in time though, I had to take a teksi for around 80 Ringit....stupid me ;-)

Buses & Coaches: A Good Way To KL

  • My wife and two daughters went to KL from Singapore on 01 July 2006 by Transnational Airconditioned Bus.
I got the tickets at Hentian Lavender on 27 June 2006 for S$40 for RT per person. I got the 8:30AM trip and the 12:00 midnight return trip.
We arrived at the Hentian Lavender 8:00 AM. I asked the bus operator if I can change the return trip to an earlier time. She said I have to pay extra but she moved it to 10:30PM without any additional cost. We waited for a while until the bus driver opened the door for boarding. The driver forgot to give us the entry form for Malaysia. We were delayed for a little time filling up the forms.
The trip was fine and good. Our first stop was at Restoran Jaya. The place need some cleaning. We reached the outskirt of KL by 2PM but the traffic got heavy and we reached Pudu Raya by 3:30 PM.
The rest of the time was well spent in the mall and the park. The twin towers of Petronas was wonderful and majestic specially at night. The other facilities were very good. It was worth all the time traveling. More Power to Malaysia.
We went to Hentian Pudu Raya by taxi who used the meter. The meter run only for 6 Rinngits but I gave all the entire 10 Rinngit for the honesty and courtesy of the driver.
Hential Pudu Raya was swarming with touts and persons offering so many things.
The bus platform downstairs was dark.
The bus left on time with half full capacity.
It stopped to pick up a person who turned out to be a driver or conductor wearing their company uniform. Along the way, passengers started to alight. The bus seats cover need to be shampooed. We reached the immigration of Malaysia. The escalator and airconditioning were not operational. There was only one staff. The immigration of Singapore had the airconditioning and escalator running. There were 3 staff at the counters and 3 policemen at the x-ray machine.
We reached Singapore by 3:30 am.
Our overall evaluation of our trip to KL is one of satisfaction and delight. Thank you.

Buses & Coaches: By Coach to/from Johor Bahru

  • Plusliner coaches are an inexpensive way to travel between KL and Johor Bahru. It costs 20,20 Malaysian Ringett. The buses are comfortable and have reclining seats. There is a stop half way between the two cities at a motorway service station. The total time is just over four hours.

There are some cheaper coaches but some of them don't look as if they will be able to make the journey.

Other destinations served by the company are: Singapore, Penang,Puduraya, Pekeliling, Kuantan and Pertanyaan.

    Buses & Coaches: Sky bus

  • Sky bus is a good option travelling from the LCCT to KL Sentral. Air Asia sell the tickets on the flights into KL for RM9 or you can pay when you get on the bus. How to get to the buses: As you pass through customs and exit the terminal, you will see taxi touts but if you turn left and walk towards the departures terminal and then head right you will eventually come to where the buses leave. Skybus is a red colour so if you are not colour-blind they are easy to find. I guess they leave every 20 minutes or so as I had just missed a bus and the next one came along almost immediately. They took a while to fill it but they sson got going. The trip to Sentral takes over an hour but quite a comfortable ride. Fortunately, I had a friendly local explain how I get to my hotel from Sentral by taxi but thats another tip :)

Buses & Coaches: NICE coach/bus to Kuala Lumpur
  • Updated By JuneTL on March 14, 2005

  • The NICE/Plusliner company is a reliable, clean and comfortable coach company. We have heard that other cheaper bus companies do not fit these three criteria. We boarded the 24 seater coach at the Copthorne Orchid Hotel, 214 Dunearn Road, Singapore 02-62565755. (This hotel is a S$5 taxi ride from Orchard Road). We checked in an hour before our departure time and free refreshment was offered at the hotel. There are many departure times during the day and night. Tickets are purchased at the hotel. It is advisable to buy your tickets early if you are travelling in busy holiday times or on the weekends. In December 04, the ticket from Singapore-Kuala Lumpur was S$37/adult. The ticket from Kuala Lumpur to Singapore was RM$60 when bought in Kuala Lumpur. The seats are spacious and can be reclined. We were given bottled water and a light snack of noodles for our journey. The journey went via the second causeway at Tuas in Singapore and took 6 hours. There was no queue at this causeway. There was a video shown during the journey. There was also a stop along the way at one of the freeway rest stops for us to go to the toilets/buy refreshments/walk around. The arrival point in Kuala Lumpur is in the heart of town at the KTMB Railway Station Building, Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin 03-22721586.
It is more economical and time saving to travel from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur by coach as you save on your transfer cost from hotel to airport (about S$17/taxi), airport departure taxes, air ticket, transfer cost from airport to hotel (about RM$80). Also consider the following:
the time it takes to get to the airport 1 hr
    check-in time 1.5 hrs
    fight time 1 hr
    clearing customs/collect bags 1 hr
transport from airport to hotel 1 hr
