A cheap way to get to Brunei from Labuan Island is by the local ferry. Make sure you arrive early, as the two queues for Customs were extremely long, and we thought we weren't going to get on.
International Ferry Terminal is located on Jalan Merdeka.

The bus service is very poor and most of the bus with no air-cond. There is also no proper schedule and always wait until the bus is full before depart.
There is no meter taxi and the charges is freaking expensive.
I would suggest you to rent a car to tour around the island. It is easy to drive around and sure won't get lost.

Labuan is 8km off the coast of Sabah. Although there are boat trips from Sabah (20 minutes by boat from Menumbok), Brunei and Sarawak, the fastest way to get there is by flight.
Flew by Malaysian Airlines from Kuala Lumpur via Miri to Labuan.
Other airlines flying into Labuan are Air Asia and Brunei Airlines from Bandar Seri Begawan (Brunei).

You can catch a ferry in Labuan.
It will take you to Kota Kinabalu in Sabah
or you can go to Brunei.
We went to Brunei from Labuan.
There are also planes in and out of Labuan. We flew in on Malaysia Air from Kuching.

You can take ferry from/to Labuan and Borneo, including Limbang, Burnei and Kota Kinatabu.

From KL u can either take MAS or Airasia (cheaper). Journey is about 2 hours ++.
