THE COLOUR BLUE

by DAO

I almost did not book the Seaplane Transfer to my resort because I wanted to save some money. Glad the travel agent talked me into it. The beauty of the Maldives can only fully be seen by air. The highest point is about 15 feet high, so the many islands, coral reefs and just plain rocks are surrounded by the most incredible range of blue water in the world. You get some idea from your beach and the bar in your resort, but only from up high can you see the vast waterscape that is the Maldives. It is a shame that ‘your favourite thing’ of any page is called a ‘General Tip’. Hope you enjoy the pictures. Would you like some information on Seaplane Transfers? Please look here:DAO’s Seaplane Tip

Which island ??????

by Sheila.

There are so many islands to choose from, so it can be bewildering which one to go for...Tanking some informations on the net, i got this, maybe it can helps :- Best for families : Bandos- Best for diving and snorkelling : Machchafushi is one of the best budget options- Best for health/spa : the Maldives Hilton on the islands of Rangali and Ranglifinolhu - Best for couples : Baros, and I recommend Laguna Beach+Full Moon as I was there and it was wonderfullBut the best thing to do when choosing an island is to get information looking on the web, there are so many good websites about Maldives. Here are some :http://www.maldives-resorts-hotel.comhttp://www.maldives.com/http://www.themaldives.com/default.asphttp://www.visitmaldives.com/http://ilesmaldives.free.fr/

Best time to visit Maldives

by Sheila.

The best time to visit Maldives is during the northeast season, from mid-december to may, which is drier than the southwest season (april to november, wetter and cloudier, although it's still warm). But northeast season it's also the high season, with higher prices and more visitors !. So if you are loooking for lowest prices, you better go on southwest season and you might be able to pick up a real bargain.

FISH

by Andreaflem

Just watch the fish and sealife whether scuba diving , snorkelling or from the jetty, beach or balcony. You can see mantas, stingrays, and baby sharks swim along the waters edge. The first time a snorkelled I put my mask on and looked down at my feet and there were lots and lots of fish swimming around me if I had never snorkelled I would never have known they were there. Every different colour and shape and size.

Male

by faridah

Thats the picture of the capital of Maldives, Male, taken from Hulhule hotel. I was not able to go there as there was not enough guests who signed up for the trip and I did think of going there, on the last day while waiting for the flight but it rained on that day, so I dont think my stomach can take the boat's swaying. The excursion to go to Male costs $40 per pax but if you go on your own from the airport will only costs you $1 dhoni ride. Maybe next time, 10 years later.

Clear light blue sea

by tiontor

The beaches in Paradise island are amazing! We haven't seen such clear waters, full with exotic fishes. You can take a waterproof photo machine and enjoy the experience of your won exotic fish photographs! The beach is long, with white soft sand. You will enjoy walking barefoot. The beach is wide and long, so you will be alone and enjoy moments of total renewal, relaxation and comfort! Enjoy swimming in Maldives, the greatest beaches we have ever been. An unforgetable, unique holiday! The perfect place for your honeymoon! Paradise...maybe the last one on earth. We are so sorry for the tsunami...it happened some days after we had left. It is such a wonderful place and I am sure life now is as it was before. I would like to visit again...soon!

Sun, Sea & Sand

by trevndebs

The stunning scenery, the friendly staff and 2 weeks without shoes.A diving paradise. The brilliant white coral sand, the beautiful sunsets and the water bungalow over the aquamarine ocean. For once, the travel brouchures don't lie. There's no highrise hotels being built nearby, in fact local law dictates that nothing can be built higher than the palmtrees.Just get a drink in the bar, settle down and marvel at the beauty of the setting sun. This is what the Maldives is all about!

Blue Skies and Beaches

by muadmz

well it is exactly as it says.. eventhough Im from the Maldives, I spent most of my life outside in other countries. So going there is like a holiday for me each time. Beautiful beach and clear skies ;) make sure you take some snorkling masks and underwater camera.. even if its cheap ones cause the sea water near the beach is crystal clear..

Flowers of the Maldives

by Conflictrealms

If you are a keen gardner, or have an interest in plants, then you surely wont be dissapointed by the different plants in the Maldives. Just walking from my room to the restaurant, i saw about 20 different varieties of flowers. The island has its own flower pickers so that they can be used to decorate cocktails, and because of the climate, the flower grows back in no time!
