Thought you were arriving to/departing from Male? Well, you'd be wrong. It might be called Male International Airport but its actually on the island of Hulhule in the Maldives.
If you find yourself with time on Hulhule, why not make use of the free dhoni provided by Hulhule Island Hotel which departs from opposite the Domestic Terminal and takes just 10 minutes to whisk you over to Male where there are plenty of sights and sounds to take in.
Check with the hotel for the schedule. Whilst this service might be provided by the hotel, there were no checks when I boarded to ascertain if I was a hotel guest or not.

You might be landing at Male International Airport but you'll actually find it on Hulhule Island. The capital island of Male is adjacent to this island - a 10 minute dhoni ride away.
