You are in the Maldives so it is a bit criminal not to have a peek underwater, it's so lovely down there!
There is a dive centre on the island so you can learn to dive there or dive, dive, dive if you are already qualified.
The house reef is very good. There is even a small wreck near the jetty and this can be done from shore. The Kuredu Express is a dive really worth doing: I saw turtles, napoleon wrasses, a manta and an eagle ray on that very dive.
Another option is to combine one week on the island with one week on the diving liveaboard MY Moonsoon, which belongs to Kuredu and moors on the jetty in between two diving trips.

There is a spa on Kuredu and it looks fab. The treatment rooms overlook the sea and have a real luxury feel about them. So if you feel like a bit of pampering, then go fo it.
A word of warning: prices are on the steep side. Probably slightly more expensive than in your average London salon.
Example in Nov 09: full Swedish body massage was $96.

Go definately for snorkelling. It is an experinece you won't regret!!!
And if you fear of "tsunamis", I have to inform you that Maldives Island generally have an anti-tsunami protection due to their coral structural. When the tsunami struck, no one of the snorkellers or divers where harmed. In all of Maldives, only about 150 people where lost due to the high level of water, and not due to the tsunamis, since there were no tsunamis created there.

Snorkelling!!
This was most definitly the highlight of our two weeks in paradise!
We spent most of our time snorkelling on the house reef . We saw, honeycomb eels, clown fish, titan triggerfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, wrasses, cube fish, loads of parrotfish, and many more that I don't know the names of. The best experience we had was when we ran across a Loggerhead sea turtle who was kind enough to let us swim along with him for about 10 minutes before he ventured out into water we weren't brave enough to enter. In all we had three seperate sea turtle encounters and hopefully we got some great pictures out of them.
I would highly, highly recommend going snorkelling on the right side of the jetti to the coral gardens, that was absolutely beautiful, it was teaming with all different types of fish, sea cucumbers, giant clams, and that is where we spotted our second turtle. If you go snorkeling out there have an underwater camera or you will never forgive yourself!
