The majority of the accommodation is located approimately 10 to 15 minutes walk away from the restaurants and bars. You are not permitted to take glasses out of bars ( they will not provide paper or plastic cups). So if you are relaxing on the beach at your bungalow and would like a drink you have to go to the bar or use you mini bar and this is where you can rack up some expenses. Beer is $4.00, cokes $2.95, minatures $6.75 etc, remember you also have to pay for water, $3.00, 50% discount if your AI.

Make sure you eat a big breakfast the day you leave. We had a very small breakfast and then headed off to the airport. We had a few hours to wait before our plane left. So we did the usual bought cheap liquor, a few souvenirs (great idea to buy books on the Maldives at the airport as they are much cheaper than the resort) and we decided to have some lunch.
The "restaurant" had about 3 choices all of which was cheap, nasty frozen food (worse than the kind you used to eat at school). The menu consisted of hotdogs, pizza, or burgers. We picked 2 burgers with fries and 2 diet cokes, this cost us $20 (£11.26). There were no signs with prices but we figured 2 burgers wouldn't be that expensive. I don't even think it was a burger, it had a slight green tint and neither of us ate more than a few bites. Even the ketchup for the fries didn't taste good, and the fries were really soft and soggy. I am not a picky eater and don't usually complain about food, but when you spend $20 on 2 burgers it would be nice if you could eat it without feeling sick.
There are a couple of stores in the airport that sell snacks you would be much better off buying something to eat from there or just waiting until you get on the plane to eat. Leave a Comment
